The triple-disc, 10th Anniversary special edition of what, in my opinion, is Kevin Smith's finest movie. It's a great package: 2 versions of the films (regular & unrated Sundance festival versions) with 2 separate commentary tracks by Kevin, Jay & cast!, Animated missing scene (worth the price alone!), "Flying Car" short with Dante & Randall, Jay & Silent Bob MTV spots, 90 minute documentary & much more.
I've watched lots of the smaller item (animated scene, flying car, MTV spots) & look forward to watching the original cut & possibly the origianl commentary at some point this weekend.

Well. . despite having TONS of stuff to watch still (including all those box sets), I ended up picking up a bunch of new stuff today:

At the used shop (where I had to go to pick up some Pokemon cards for a Birthday present for an 8 year old), I traded in "In Living Color, Season 1" and "Challenge of the Superfriends" for $48 in credit, and picked up:

Reanimator (Millenium Edition)
Hellboy (3 disc Director's cut set)
KISS: the Vegas Concert

Garfield (hey, it was basically free, so I got it for Nick) :)

Then I made a quick stop at Best Buy specifically to get the Unrated version of Dawn of the Dead (2004 version)

and while there, I also picked up the Special Editon of the Thing (I think the Kurt Russell and John Carpenter commentary is what sold me on this. . that, and that it was only $14.99).

Damn. .I got LOTS of stuff to watch. . LOL

I didn't purchase, but received for my birthday from my mother a very interesting looking DVD set. It is The Veil an unsold horror television anthology hosted by Boris Karloff. Apparently 10 episodes were made in 1958 with Karloff as the host and occasional star of the episodes. The two DVD set has all ten episodes plus two episodes of another unsold series Numer 13 Demon Street, hosted by Lon Chaney, Jr.

I haven't had a chance to take a look at it yet, but it certainly looks interesting.

So I had to settle for The Shield (which I really don't want) and Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

It all makes me wonder if Best Buy really sold out of all the stuff or if they just put all the good stuff in the back. The season set isles were pretty slim!

I just went to Sam's Club. I had my heart set on getting a two-pack with Spidey 1 & 2 in it. Unfortunately all the ones they had (left?) were full-frame. :(

I settled for Collateral, The Bourne Supremacy and The Chronicles of Riddick (Unrated Director's Cut). I ended putting back Matrix Reloaded which was only 11.99 back in favor of Collateral. I shouldn't have. Who the hell puts out a two-disc set with no friggin Commentary Track ?!!! Better yet what the hell was I smoking? I knew it didn't have one!

One of my goals for 2005 was to watch The Office from beginning to end again (I've decided that this is going to turn into an annual ritual). I'm happy to say that I'm already half way through the 2nd Series with plans of finishing The Special this weekend.

I've been talking to a friend of mine about holding marathon screenings at my apartment. I've mentiond Vulgar Puppet Movie night (Team America and Meet the Feebles, we talked about Zomedy Night (Zombie comedies like Dead Alive, Shaun of the Dead and maybe Evil Dead II or Army of Darkness) and marathoning the Office. I think the first two seasons come up to around 5 hours. And the Special is 90 minutes. That's still shorter then marathoning Lord of the Rings.
