Ah, Alan Grant, Alan Grant... may you go down in history as one of the few writers that actually make some goddamn effort toward making Scarecrow worthy of Arkham.
So, thoughts on revisiting this sort of modus operandi for ol' Johnny Crane? Would it seem a bit redundant with Maxie Zeus around?
And on a related note, does he still know kung fu?

Technically, Maxie Zeus isn't around anymore. He died a few years back, although some minis revisiting Batman's past have portrayed him ever since.
'The God of Fear' is a very good storyline, but I think portraying Crane like that all the time would get repetitive and stale.
The kung-fu thing hasn't been retconned yet. He still should know it, it's just it isn't very efficient against Batman anyway, so why to bother with it?

I'm kind of interested if Blackest Night will have any long term effects on Scarecrows characterization. The only kind of characterization that's stuck has been the stereotypical gas and run version.

That would be pretty interesting to see scarecrow keep the yellow lantern ring, but i don't know how i'd respond if they use that as an excuse to shovel green lantern and sinestro into the batcomics. Maybe if they could put a different spin on it, make it uniquely his, sorta like the Alan Scott green lantern and how his power ring is different from the rest of the corps. Then that would actually be pretty awesome. Imagine scarecrow using his ring to battle dick/bruce on a nightly basis, it would really make him into a more powerful nemesis.

Yeah Green Lantern 50 implied that its going to be hard getting the rings off some of the deputies. If anything maybe they just go the whole "the rings stop working after 24 hours" route.

I was going to say the same thing, Maxie needs to be around in order to be redunant
