View Full Version : Is Osborn using Extremis?

Osborn's Iron Patriot suit seems to be based on the Ellis/Granov redesign made up of smaller plates organized and manipulate by Extremis. Has it been explicitly stated that Osborn is using Extremis? I can't remember if the small plate style armor was actually a part of the Extremis upgrade or Tony had already designed it and Extremis just made it easier to use.
Off topic, I never know where to post about Norman anymore. Spidey forums? Avenger forums? I love having him as an all around Marvel villain and not just a Spidey villian. Best villain ever.

I've seen the armor pop off him like it used to when Tony was using extremis, but I don't think it's ever been explicitly stated.

Wasn't Tony still able to run his armor even after the Skrulls made the connection between his armor and extremis not work? Just that without it, it was horribly clunky to use?
But I actually think it was based on the design right before the extremis upgrade. That and if you read Siege 2 there is no goddamn way he would get hit like that so many times (but I never get sick of that joke).

The version right before Extremis looked damn near exactly like Extremis, and I believe could do some of the wackier stuff. But the one real important Extremis bit, the undersheathing stored in the bones, isn't a feature of the Iron Patriot suit.

I'm actually hoping that the Extremis undersheathing IS part of Osborn's set up. Reading his arc from the Pulse, through MK Spider-Man and Thunderbolts, he's obviously been all hopped up on meds to keep the Goblin under control. Now we've seen in Dark Avengers that the Goblin personality is reasserting itself. I think it'd be cool if the Extremis was a catalyst for this.

He doesnt have it, I think in Iron Man some where it showed Osborn angry at the armor trying to fix stuff trying to keep it in shape.

So can he actually manipulate the plates individually, or do they automatically assemble into the armor? I know Tony actually made the plates fly around and stuff. Norman only seems to use the repulsors to suit up or...suit down.

Yeah! This is a good question.
What the heck armor is he using?
I haven't seen that anyone has shown that the armor comes out from his bones like we know Tony's version did. So my vote is NOT Extremis.

No, otherwise he'd be much more of a threat.

Doesnt Extremis kill/mutalate anyone other than Tony.

No he doesn't have the Extremis virus in him and the suit he's wearing is pre-extremis.
Like Stark said, "Osborn is too stupid to make Repulsar Tech" then he's not smart enough to operate the Extremis suit, which according to Stark is the equivalent of flying three stealth bombers at the same time. Something even Stark (without Extremis) couldn't do.
If there are plates flying and assembling themselves, then it's just writer and artist F-up.

Yeah, Osborn's already got powers apart from the suit, via the Goblin Formula, his biology would probably interfere with Extremis and make it require some heavy retooling. There's no evidence of Maya Hansen stepping up to do it for him.

QFT. The Mandarin told us that something like 97.5% of the Earth's population could not survive the Extremis procedure (Mandy himself was part of that huge majority), and that Tony was just lucky.
No way Norman is using Extremis. If he can't get repulsors to work right, he would have dead on the floor if he tried to shoot up with the Extremis Enhancile.

For now, I'd say here, but if It's a Spidey related topic/question I'd say the Spidey forum. After Siege we'll see what Norman's status is. He may revert to being mainly Spidey's prom date as opposed to the Marvel Universe at large prom queen.
