Diamond Lil's mutant ability constantly generates an extremely strong force field around her entire body. She constantly saturates her body with a reinforcing bio-aura of impenetrable energy, rendering her virtually invulnerable to all forms of physical impact or assault, temperature extremes, or energy based attacks. The force field remains even when separated from her body, for example a piece of her hair is strong enough to choke someone even when removed from her head.

As far as has been shown or even mentioned, they are still married.

Lil was around in the 198 and Madison came aboard recently, but they haven't been shown on panel until the preview for next weeks X-Force. It goes to show the lovely work of Fraction and the X-Office that they have two characters, one (Madison) actually appearing quite a bit, and they never think to acknowledge his wife and fellow super-hero/mutant that is also living there on the island.

The current editors and Chris Yost have no respect for anything other than their own fan fiction. Since Alpha is not part of that, they feel like they can just kill them off and it won't matter to anyone.

The least they could do is write them in character...and maybe even with a little knowledge of their powers before they senselessly kill them.
