Eh. It's not ideal, but I guess after 3 years of "OMG!! I miss you Conner!!" there has to be an obligatory issue about how their reunion on the team is working out.

And I'm guessing Chesire is out to get him because of what's almost certainly gonna happen to Lian.

But of course. I'm thinking Prometheus destroys or teleports a good chunk of Star City, and it takes Lian with it.

They did a scene in the most recent issue of Titans where Donna is at Roy's bedside reflecting on how he comforted her when her son died. They then zoom in on a picture of Lian playing with Roy, and she says "When he wakes up, nothing will ever be the same again". Ominous anyone?

That too. Losing two members of his "Arrow Family" (his sidekick and his "grandaughter") would be a very believeable reason for Ollie to commit this crime all the previews keep mentioning.

That's a nice catch Kevin... what if it isn't a mistake on the artist's part, but a window into how the constructs and batteries are going to change after Blackest Night?

but the issue of Adventure with Tim was nice..

Sounds like that could be it. Though I wouldn't rule out a good old fashioned fuck up. A lot of these covers look a lot more polished by the time they hit the stands.

See, I have this weird color problem, and when colors are close in hue and lightness, I can't tell them apart. I thought those were green too. But I can't trust what I see.

I wonder if we're gonna learn that Ollie mindwiped Roy to cure his drug addiction and make him a "good soldier", maybe copying some of his personality over to Roy, that the Red Arrow phase was the ultimate embodiment of that.

C'mon, that would fit with both Ollie's "crime" and the reversion to the Arsenal persona.

Everyone's assumed that Roy would be the hero turned villain. However, it might be more fitting if it's Ollie, with Roy and Dinah both distancing themselves from Ollie and Ollie going on the run.

Roy might be the "traditional" hero and Ollie could be the bad guy here and the payoff could be a new Hard Traveling heroes based out of Ollie's book and co-opting the success of the GL franchise as Ollie shares the book with Hal, who teaches Ollie about redemption in a reversal of the old HTH where it was Ollie teaching Hal.

'Cause it strikes me that Ollie, while loud about his ideals, would sacrifice them in a second for family.

He's a hypocrite. Always has been. Never had much patience for his preaching and moralizing, playing conscience to super-heroes who already had a perfectly good one, and he's had a fall that's decades coming. His death got in the way of that.

The character's STRENGTH is that he's human. But I think that makes his foibles and hypocrisies, his lechery and his preachiness into traits that have built up his character. He's fascinating but he's not virtuous. He's just a loudmouth with a lot of guilt he's projected onto other people who have less to be ashamed of than he does.

Ollie going against everything he stands for is what I call Tuesday. That's why I can see it. That and he's been at the source of half the darkness in the DCU in an era when things are getting brighter. He needs to be cut down and built back up after three decades of everyone else being cut down for his benefit.

He's posterchild for relevance comics. He needs relevance to blow up in his face and destroy him so he can move beyond social relevance into the future, a place of possibility, not muckwallowing through the streets, hairy chested seduction and shouting political diatribes like some schizophrenic dinosaur stuck in the Nixon administration. Time to step into the light.

Heck, you know what? I say it's past due for Ollie to get a shave and we see what's ticking inside that character that was there before Denny O'Neil reinvented him. Let's see what seeds are at the core of that apple.

Yeah, I wanna see this considering how Matriarchal, Dinah has been over the Arrow Family for the past umpteen years or so. Then considering Chesire's past with the Birds, this will be most interesting indeed.

I wish Cliff Chiang were doing the interiors on Brave and the Bold #33, but I am all over that issue anyway. I will buy any comic with Babs Batgirl in it. I'm just a sucker that way.

1: CFJ #5 has a scene that was totaly forced that gave new readers a short introduction to Mia and Lian. and made sure to note that Mia was babysitting Lian.
2: Titans #21 has a scene with Dianah and Donna in Doctor MidNights lab (it says S.T.A.R Labs, Star City but thats just stupid, Midnight is there and the "event" happened in the Watchtower.. it should be in the JSA brownstone..) Donna makes some remarkes about Roy having lost and it all being over while the panel showes a picture of Roy and Lian

Dini has mentioned it on his blog. I think they just want to have a lot of lead time on it.


Also, I just realized that Cliff Chiang is doing interiors on the Brave and the Bold issue. I'm so used to him not doing interiors, I got confused. YAY!
