View Full Version : Art thread.
Because I know you all now.. hehe.. I'll be posting art on here.
I haven't had a chance to do any B.P.R.D art yet, but at the moment, I've done my first shots at X-men. Wolverine and Rogue to be exact. Click here (http://www.freewebs.com/leo--/inks.htm) to visit the page that they are kept on. (A temporary thing. When I get the chance, I'll put them on the Dev account.)
Bear in mind these are the first ever attempts at X-men. Be nice :p

Yeah Hellsaint was moaning over how stressed he was over the freaking exams, but guess his happy now before he goes to national service :) by the way the pic of wolverine is nice, add a dab of colours and it will be good to go!

Ta, both of you. Though I got let off the hook (it was a mock) and it didn't happen. Thank fate for absent-minded and ageing old tutors, eh?
And there's a reason I didn't colour it. I'm sh*t scared of ruining it. no experience. It was traumatic enough taking ink to it. O.o And go where? :p

I can be such a dunce! :D I've scanned it instead. Many copies! Thanks for the advice.
I know I said I'd be back, and I am, but I'm heading off again.
I DID get that pic of HB drawn out eventually. Need to colour him.
Unfortunately, something bad has come up in my life. My father had a heart attack last night, and I've been at the hospital with him through the early hours of the morning, until 3pm my time. Obviously, sleep deprevation hasen't done me a helluva lot of good.
He's stable, and coherant though, so the outlook is quite good.
Plus, college is heading down the drain.
So, I'll have to spend my time take care of him until he gets better. I'll try to post my pic when I can get the time to try and find a scanner.
Regards to you all, hoping you're having a better holiday season than me. If you check out my earlier posts, you'll find the projects I'm on now. (if you care to)

Me too! I wish you and your family well and a great Christmas despite the challenges.
Thanks you guys. It's made me feel better, knowing that people care. Don't have much family, you see. Things should be O.K. I'll post if and when I can. Christmas wishes to you all as well.
P.S Whilst I was painting, a thought came to me. Can Hellboy get blinding drunk? So drunk that he collapses?

Yes.
At least it's in keeping with everything else we know about him.

Oh good. Should make for a humorous picture then. Thanks for letting me know, Tad.
Just because I need to tell someone.. (yes its sad, but as I said, my family is extremely small) my dad's having an op tomorrow, to explore his ticker. Apparently, the outlook ain't so great anymore. Bypass, artery inflation, or pacemaker is on the cards. 20% rate of death, which isn't so uncommon, according to the doc. I hate doctors. Its either he has this op, or its a one in ten chance of him kicking the bucket. Damnit. So, I'm ultra-hyped right now, and pissed off to Hell. Sorry for blabbing on the board, but I know some of you people are quite nice by way of being sympathetic, and I could use all the nice people I can right now.

Thankyou. Though I'm not religuous, it means quite a bit to me.
Update: I finished the HB pic I was painting, and have started on a trial comic strip thingy. Post it when I can. (And why is Abe so bloody hard to draw??)
Yeah. So, here's where I'm at with Rogue. Still no HB, but I'm sure I'll be getting a scanner for xmas, so there ya go. Help on anything would be appreciated, as I'm frustrated with it.

Leo, big HUGS! and I'm really sorry about your dad. :(
I'm working right now as a doctor's assistant at Mass General Hospital, in the Heart Failure division. Let me tell you, there a lot of people out there with heart trouble. But a 20% rate of death is an over-estimate; the docs would rather tell you the worst and then pull off a "miracle" than give you actual numbers. They're trying to keep from getting sued. His chances are better than that, probably only a 10% chance of death.
So I'd say you dad has a pretty good chance of pulling through. They're going to put him on a low-salt diet after the surgery, and he'll need to moniter his weight and take it slow, but he should be allright.

Jeez! Leo, you alright? My sister's father-in-law past away due to stroke about a few months ago. I hope your dad is having a much better chance of skirting death.
Anakin - Ta very much mate. Yer right, actually, it turned out that -someone- was being overly dramatic. Whom I'll never know.
Hellsaint - Yeah, man, I'm ok.
To the both of ye, ta so much for the support. I'm unable to tell you how much it does mean to me to have people who care. As it is, he's out of the unit now, and home, but needing care. As we are completely broke, I'm the one looking after him. It ain't exactly easy, (my housekeeping skills are nill! :D) but the medication is helping him a naffload.
Though to be honest.. I'm worn out. After a week of this crap, I just wanna go nuts. He's shitty lately, now on some form of Prozac. Tonight is the only time I've been able to grab a few hours to myself. He's clinically depressed, so we aren't gelling much (I have the same). I'm also disabled, (partially, though I HATE that word) I need a crutch to get about.
But he's a good guy, and he deserves everything I can give him. My Mum helps out going on shopping runs occasionally, though they're divorced, so that's good. But to be honest... I'm kinda not coping. I can't draw either! :D I burnt my fingers, they came up in blisters. So I'm just hanging in there.
Like I said... your support means a lot to me.
I'm unsure if I don't post something, my name will get booted. Anyhow. I'm here. Yay. (Does anyone care? ha!)
Got a HB comic. FINALLY. Reference. Yeah, so.. ok. bye. (How lame am I dude? Don't tell me, I already know)

Welcome back, Leo.
I don't think accounts expire. Jonah has even said somewhere that they won't even delete accounts on the user's own request. An account can only be banned and even then I haven't seen a banned user's account wiped out. Their posts still persists, they just aren't allowed to post anymore.
If you're away for a long time your log-in cookie will expire so you have to log-in again, but you're always welcome! :)

Not written by Mignola himself (though published with his blessings), Hellboy gets a bit "hammered" in the short story Scared Crows, which appears in the short story anthology Hellboy: Odd Jobs (good read in my opinion, currently digesting the follow up anthology "Odder Jobs" as we speak)

Well, its good to know I'm not completely ruining good ol' HB. I've already drawn, written up and inked the strip; 'least I won't feel too guilty. Thanks for the information.

Aww. Heck, that's so nice of you to say. ;) All cutsie, I'm wanted. *dances?*
I'm Back
After all this time, I'm back. Got to be.. a year now? I doubt that anyone remembers me, but what the hell, I'm still here. I guess. Hi to all those who were really nice to me during crisis. You guys rock.
Filling in the gaps....
Yes, I've done art. Art is getting better, the gallery should show that. Things went... down the pan, so to say. I'm not on speaking terms with my father, and well.. I'm stuck in my wheelchair now. (joy) Other than that, I've got a boyfriend (who I've hung onto for dear life for seven months) it looks like I'm going to be proposed to soon in the next year or so, and well. Things are ok. Could be better, could be worse. I have support. I'm getting my own flat. Financially independant now. Totally thrilled at Tad's site, something for me to enjoy and look around in. I really do hope all you lot who I made friends with are well. If not, why not? Get well. I still care for you, (in a friendly way. That sounded creepy....) Take care all.
