My Grandmother turns 105 today.

She still has her mind, although she can get confused(so can I). She has the macular so she can only see a little. She has a little problem hearing. She can walk if she has someone else spot her by hovering over her. All things considered she still enjoys life and has it fairly together. She has aides around the clock and she manages them like a football coach.

I love her very much and it's hard to watch her slowly deteriorate, but since she's lived so long it isn't that bad.

I wonder how long she's going to stay alive? She outlived her sister (died at 95), her husband (died at 98), her son (died at 77), her sister-in-law (died at 100), her brother-in-law (died at 101) and she has outlived almost all of her nephews and nieces.

Whenever some celebrity dies, particularly the young ones, I always think, "Gee, she outlived another one!". It's kinda of creepy her living so long. I remember a cartoon of a snowman somehow surviving until Summer and these two kids saying, "If it doesn't melt soon, I'm knocking it down." That's my Nana, she's the snowman that survived until June.

I don't want her to die but she had better not outlive either me or my mother. I have to draw the line somewhere.

fly on the wall should only live about 36 hours:

Geez, with genetics like that, we'll never be rid of you.

Happy Birthday to your Grams, fly!

She doesn't look a day over a hundred.

So she's been around since 1905? (Or 1904, perhaps?) Wow.

If the swine flu kills off 99% of the population, and I start having creepy dreams of a dark figure who wants to take over the world, I'm going to have to go visit your grandmother.

It'd help if I knew where she lived!

She really doesn't look a day over 100!

Well, now I have to go to another one of her gala Birthday parties. There is always a ton of people there because they all want to suck up so they can inherit some of her cashola.

But I'm sure she'll leave it all to me.

Well, not really. fume

If I get run over by a minivan on the way over to the party (it's walking distance from my job), this is my last will and testament:

To anyone who posted on this thread I leave on cat. Said kitty-cat to be no more than 23 pounds and no less than 9 pounds of prime cat flesh.

And you can all draw straws to see who gets Deci-Belle.

That Fifth Pip guy gets my comic collection but he's got to read it all to take possession of it.

All my money goes to PETA and I also will give them a detailed description of all the things we used to do to pigs at my last job, so PETA can harass them. I'm into Aging Research now, not scuba-diving pigs.

Speaking of Aging Research it's time to go to my Grandmother's party. Ta Ta.

fly on the wall makes me an offer I can refuse:

Can't I just get run over by the mini-van with you, instead?

My grandma is having her 100th birthday in October. I thought it was a big deal until I learned of Grandma Fly on the Wall.

Maybe, on your birthday, they should present you with a large card with photos of all the celebrities you've managed to outlive...

Happy Birthday, Fly's Nana!
From the pretend monkey inside your pretend fly grandson's magic electric brain!

Oh the things Walt Kelly or C.C. Beck could'a done with THAT premise!

Har! Hee hee.

You made the right pick as she has been on the warpath lately.

It is a big deal and it means my Granny and yours are in longest life derby. Sure my Gran has pulled ahead a little now but who knows which one will go the longest.

Is your granny in good shape? My grandmother has been in a slow but sure decline in the last five years. She needed a walker to approach the cake and blow out the candles. But she did blow out the candles.

Pretend monkeys inside of pretend electric brain??

Now I'm going to have a nightmare.

Ha ha. I can't STAND it!

The thought of my grandmother as the captain of the good squad in the Stand makes me laugh. She'd be more concerned with whether you had tracked some dirt in her house than in saving the human race.

She's still in pretty good shape. She's a happy person and really looking forward to her 100th birthday this year.

Now I'm going to have a nightmare.

It'll be directed by Tex Avery, too. You just know it.
