Rachel obviously has the Crimson Dawn (how she got it, CC never spelled out since he interrupted the Psylocke/Rachel connection with a long-form dinosaur story). Why does she never use it!?!!

Is it because, they're basically the same powers?
Has she not even figured out that she has them?
Is it because she's not even a ninja and her having them is weird in the first place?

Spiral took them when she stole the unborn fetus from Rachel's womb.
Rachel is Shatterstar's biological mother. Red Lotus was the father.

Let's take this slow, Goshin. Psylocke had the Crimson Dawn when she was shacking up with Warren. Then, during the six month gap between a bunch of crap and CC's 2000 return to the title, Psylocke and Jean switched powers. Jean got the Crimson Dawn and gained a shadow Phoenix form. Then Jean got her ass handed to her by Magneto and CC brought R'Chell back in X-Treme X-Men. When he took over Uncanny, he made a point of showing R'Chell with the Crimson Dawn sig on her face and kept hinting at a connection between her and Psylocke. Rachel has the Crimson Dawn. Why isn't she using it!?

It has something to do with the Shadow King (who might also be the telepath, Bogan) messing with Jean and Psylocke (and maybe Rachel). How is that confusing?

Imagine what the Jean one's ass looked like. Wow. If i seen her at a con i would take many many pictures.

I think it has more to do with the Grey blood. Instead of having bad luck for 7 years you just stay in limbo/death for some odd years.

Well...i think when rachel recieved the echo of the phoenix from korvuses phoenix blade her shadow powers somehow got edited out of her. Its like the echo deleted them somehow. And now the echos gone and she can't display her shadow form or her phoenix symbol now.

Okay... gonna throw out a whole different theory...
When R'Chel disappeared in Excalibur (vol. 1) #75, it was because, at the point, supposedly, only she, or Captain Britain could exist in Marvel-616 at the same time. So, in order to leave Brian diddling Meggan, she gave everyone in the 616 what they wanted and went the eff away.
So she's gone for years. Then what changes?
Brian's sister, Psylocke, dies.
All of a sudden, R'Chel is back, with a power signature from her. Coincidence? Naw. It was the door opening. A Braddock from Otherworld bit the dust, so R'Chel could come back in her stead.
And then, once Psylocke came back from the dead in Uncanny X-Men, R'Chel lost her powers, altogether, when Betsy took them back, only to have her brother Jaime get rid of them, altogether.
Man... intertwining bad Rachel continuity with bad Betsy continuity... that's the definition of a writer's clusterf***, right there.

Simple, she doesnt have the Crimson Dawn powers. Her imagery was something CC brought up and never bothered to explain. I highly doubt it will ever come up again and will forever remain one of the X-men's dangling plots.

It was explained in House of M - Uncanny X-Men. Rachel and Betsy's fates were intertwined together by Jamie so that CC could dredge up the first foursaken, the opposite of the Phoenix Force... I still don't understand it.

The Rachel/Psylocke and Jean/Psylocke connections were jumbled stories that were never clarified.
The reveal of Rachel as Bogan's "Shadow Telepath Slave" smacked of a "Echo is Ronin, NOT Daredevil" switcheroo. Something done because too many readers guessed the secret. There was even dialogue saying "What, you thought it would be BETSY didn't you?!?"
That is when Rachel's shadow power signature started in Xtreme Xmen.
Subsequent artists continued its use, including the Phoenix eye-patch that Jean had manifest during her power swap with Betsy.
http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/6672/242642-26562-marvel-girl_large.jpg (http://www.comicvine.com/26562-marvel-girl/105-242642/)There was no explanation or explicit statement or indirect indication (beyond the shadow power signature) of there being the Crimson Dawn present. The shadowy effect was phased out and the eye-patch remained.
I attribute that to artists thinking an effect around one eye is COOL in Liefeldian way (see Cable, Domino).
Its all been fallout from the swapping in of Rachel for Betsy as Bogan's pet telepath. No Crimson Dawn to see here.
Similarly, there has been no reason (AFAIK) for Echo to have been concealing her identity as Ronin.

I simply attributed it to Rachel being Jean's daughter (timeline(s) not withstanding) and all... Primarily, any major genetic changes that Jean went through -- those which could be genetically passed on were done so retroactively. That would explain why Jean and Rachel had the same eye signature at the very least.
