View Full Version : Isn't it odd that Gail hasn't commented on this thread yet?

Not to be snarky but what's with these kinds of comments? It seems like if Gail doesn't immediately comment on something we take it to mean whatever we want. For example, if she does not comment on a thread about Tony Romo, it means she thinks Tony Romo sucks!!!
What's up with that?

Yup. I've pointed this out the last two times I've seen it pop up in threads. It's basically a dare to Gail. And totally unfair.
A smart creator who wants to remain in the business isn't going to make a habit of commenting publicly on other creators. So the absense of Gail's comments on certain "what do you think of" type questions usually doesn't mean anything other than that she's being smart, overall. It doesn't denote an opinion either way, and certainly doesn't seem to be exclusive to threads trying to dare her to vent a negative opinion.
Stop it people. Stop the madness, okay?

Yeah! I'd like a comment from Gail about Gail not commenting on threads or I'll think she has no comment about not commenting! That'll teach everyone!

Considering the history of interraction Gail does respond to threads directly involving her. Asking Gail a question and getting a response is the norm, not the other way around.
I brought the concern up, I asked for it to be addressed and I have been commenting on it. I apologize that my inquiries have lessened your enjoyment of the board. I have my answer so I'll stop asking the question.
Considering some of the rediculous things discussed on here I didn't think my question would be that out of line but apparently it was.

I wonder how much the word "Gail" is used in these forums... It's a bit annoying. "Gail tell us this, Gail that"... Like geez let the woman rest.

This is odd, a thread about fans theorizing on how "Gail not commenting on threads" and how these fans shouldn't do so. Yeah I agree but did it really need a thread of it's own? Especially since the header SCREAMS for Gail to actually read it.
Which defeats the purpose of your thread doesn't it? Or is it the OP sneaky little way to nudge Gail into actually answering the questions a few people asked her?
;)

I've seen her go days on YABS before noticing and commenting on a thread, even when nobody in the thread is all like "WTF, why hasn't Gail commented, where's Gail, is Gail too good for us..." etc. and creating a situation where she might feel obligated to say "No, I'm not ignoring you, here's my comment." She's not inactive on the forum during that time, since she does post a lot, but sometimes she doesn't see something immediately.
I'm not sure exactly why that is, but my advice to people would be not to take it personally if she didn't comment on something. There is the possibility that she just doesn't want to comment, yes, but there's also the possibility that she's busy, or the possibility that she wants to think about what exactly she'll say before she says it, or the possibility that she just hasn't noticed it among all of the other threads and only finds it when she's doing her mod thing of inspecting the threads one by one, and probably like seven or eight more.

Of course Gail is too good for us...she's writing comics while we just read and complain about 'em.

There's a thread about it on YABS right now that you can check out, Aegis.
EDIT: Oops, nvm. Just skimmed it and there aren't any details (apart from the fact that Andy Mangels was the moderator). But you can keep track of it here:

I can't help but notice you didn't answer that Tony Romo question.
What is your problem with Tony Romo? Why all this terrible, terrible hate?
All in good fun, natch.

*shrug* I know I'm getting a bit fed up of seeing them.
I'm sure anyone who's posted one did so with all good intentions, but they do create problems, as mentioned above; plus if an idea is good it will be able to garner attention on it's own merit, and I am sure Gail will offer comment if she can.

I'm sure Gail has better things to do than comment or reply to every post that her fans post.
Besides there's nothing wrong with being a bit mysterious.

Well, what did you think happened to all that stuff when they finished the film? Gail bought it on eBay.
