As this is the time of year for people to flood Hallmark stores to find that perfect pre-fab expression of love and affection, I wanted to take the time (while I have some) to express the following:

I am thankful for my family (which includes many friends as well) for all the love and support they have given me. It's really no different from last year, but I do appreciate it just the same. To my partner of almost ten years, Gavi, I am thankful that he puts up with all my Wonder Woman rants. Also, I'm grateful for my friends, online and offline, who have augmented my life on so many levels. My colleagues hold a special place in my heart since we deal with the everyday angst of the teenagers in our school, picking and choosing which battles to fight and from which to withdraw (parents can back me up on this). I'm terribly thankful for being voted Teacher of the Year, which I serve this year, and having been one of three finalists for District Teacher of the Year. My students... well, what can I say about them... SO much. But, I couldn't do what I do without them, so THANK YOU for being the intellectually curious minds you are. When you care to learn, it makes my job so much more fun. I'm quite thankful to Gail for trusting me to moderate this forum; I'm truly humbled by the experience working with a woman so talented in so many ways (no brown-nosing intended... I mean every word). To YOU, the posters in this form... well, you have a special place in my nerdy little heart. I spend more time than I should browsing these threads and posts, all to see what you've come up with to challenge me, entertain me, support me, etc. And, it's because of how much I enjoy all of you that I was motivated to pursue two high profile interviews... to be posted as soon as I receive the responses.

Thank you, DC Comics, for publishing our girl Diana for almost 70 years. I'm indebted to the Marston family for continuing to be involved in Wonder Woman's success, now through her "brother," Pete Marston, and "niece," Christie. Without the Amazon princess, none of us would be here.

I know this is sappy, but I don't like time to pass without telling the people I care about how I feel about them. Life's too short, and we DON'T live in a comic book where we can come back to life to make things better... so, we need to take care of business while we're here.

Thanks, guys. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. May the Glory of Gaea be with you!

I give up. LOL Apparently, no one is thankful for anything. That's cool.

Hi, Aegis! I am thankful for a lot actually. This year has been a very challenging one with some major changes. However, I am still standing and I remain unbowed thanks in large part to my family and my friends (some of whom post here). They helped me to remain positive and focused. Now I have one more challenge to deal with and all will be wonderful again. I could not have done it without the emotional and moral support of my family and friends. I am most thankful for them!

Thanks for responding, Stanlos! I am sorry you've had a challenging year, but I hope all will be well soon.

Ah, you know, the typical stuff. Thankful for my health and the good health of the people I love. Thankful that the economy hasn't affected me too badly. I'm thankful for the 4 day weekend coming up. And, of course, I'm thankful for the troops stationed here and overseas and the vets. You guys and gals hold a special place in my heart.

It's been three and a half years since my birth family has spoken to me, so every day I am thankful for the family I've built. My partners, Liz and Drea, my best friend Xander, my college housemate Tim, and all the other scattered people around this Earth that I love; they truly are more family than I've ever known in my life, and sometimes I'm moved to tears by how beautiful that feeling is.

It's been a hard year financially. Part of that was expected (cuz I was in AmeriCorps) and part of that wasn't (cuz it's been really hard to find work now that I'm not in AmeriCorps). So I truly am thankful to have the basics: a roof over my head, food on my table, heat in my room. (Hell, I have more than the basics, since I'm chatting with you all online right now.)

Because it's one of my passions, I'm gonna say it again: I am so thankful to have FOOD! Thank you, State of New York, for Food Stamps! And thank you, younger Ceridwen, for learning how to cook when you were younger, cuz omg, I love it so much! I am making such a feast for Thanksgiving; I've already started cooking! ([b]aegis[/i], would it be okay if I started a "Thanksgiving/Harvest Holiday Menus" thread? I know it's kinda off topic here, but I'm so excited about the holiday!)

I am thankful for Boris, my wonderful kitty!

I am thankful for my talents, thankful for my boundless curiosity, and thankful for how deeply I feel.

And I'm thankful for this place. There are some truly wonderful people here, and I think you all should be thankful that you are you, cuz you're just great! <3

I'm thankful for my family... who drive me absolutely crazy, but never let me forget that I'm loved.

I'm thankful for my friends... who are always by my side (whether literally or figuratively), through good times & bad.

I'm thankful that I'm one of the lucky people who loves their job (hell, I'm thankful to be one of the lucky people who HAS a job).

And I'm thankful to have had as many years as I did with loved ones I've lost... even though I wish I'd had far more time with them.
