I only ever go on the weekend, so I really don't need a *4*-day pass, but I wonder if I want to be there for both Saturday and Sunday, if I'll be able to buy separate Saturday and Sunday passes?

Good grief. When do the '11 passes go on sale again?

I wonder what the scalpers' market will be like!

I think the '11 passes don't become available until *at* Comic-Con '10 (on site).

Grrrr.
Well, not really. But I am interested in seeing how bad the scalping will get as the con nears. I don't think anyone was expecting a sellout this early. Not only are all the tickets locked up, but it's... what, seven months away? That's a long lead time, which means that some ticket-buyers will have their plans change, and not be able to go.

It'll be dramatic!

I wonder how scalping for Comic-Con works anyway, since all passes are sold online and to claim your pass, you need to present a registration code that's matched to your ID.
I sure hope some 4-day passes free themselves up between now and July. While I've never been able to attend the weekdays (work obligations), I've been getting the 4-day pass anyway ever since I started going more than one day in 2003. It just provides more flexibility. Moreover, isn't it the only way to attend both Saturday and Sunday because I don't think Comic-Con has ever done *weekend* passes?
I'll settle for just Saturday this year if that's what it ultimately comes down to, but I'm still looking for ways to get Saturday *and* Sunday.

I didn't even know they were on sale. Holy shit, this could be the 1st year since I've gone that I miss. I'm a little peeved.

I have an answer to this. Last year I bought 2 passes for me and the Harlot using my credit card. I just went and got mine, then I asked if I could get hers too so she could avoid the line the next day. They said since I used my card and we have the same address that it was fine. A scalper could easily do the same thing. I got offered up to $400 for my extra pass but I ended up selling in to Jake 5 for what I got it for.

We're not out of luck yet. The 4-day passes are gone, but the 1-day passes haven't started going on sale yet (mid-December, they say).
I'm wondering if I can still manage to go both Saturday and Sunday by buying a separate pass for each day? It'll be a rip off, to say the very least, but that'll teach me to be complacent about registering early.
I just wonder if it can be done. Will they sell a separate Saturday and Sunday pass to the same person?

I would go for a day or two if I knew when the panels are. It would be perfect if they released the schedules at the same time. If I go for 2 days, I would sleep in the car and shower/groom at the 24 hour fitness at Horton's.

The one day passes will probably sell out months before the schedule is released.

You should be able to get single day passes once they go on sale.
Most people here at CBR only go to the con for a couple days. The rest is hanging out such as the Pub Crawl on Saturdays or to the Zoo.

Say, Brandon: do you know what CCI's policy is on a single guest buying two separate 1-day passes for two separate days? I'm seriously thinking about doing that once the 1-day passes become available, but I don't know if CCI even allows that.
I'd *really* like to be there for both weekend days if possible.

In the past, they were fine with people pre-registering/buying single day passes for each available day. A friend of mine did that in 2008. She went to both Thursday and Friday on single day passes.

Thanks, Brandon. Hopefully, there's been no change of policy on that by CCI this year, despite the early sell-out of the 4-day passes.
Thanks too to Chris Nowlin for starting this thread. If he hadn't, I and many other people still interested in going to CCI next summer would have been in for a nasty surprise as we waited until 2010 to register (I've customarily done my registration in February, but it looks like that custom is going to be retired).

Ack! Pfft! Economy in the crapper My ASS! This has got to be a record or something. I usually go as a guest of a pro, so I don't think it's a problem for me. However, this will be shitty news for my pal that I go with every year, as he usually has to scramble at the last minute to get a pass.
Let the bidding for scalped passes begin!
