I saw this during Fantastic Fest this past year. Having only seen Quarantine and not Rec, I'm glad someone mentioned the religious thread in Rec that don't show up in Quarantine. I would've caught on easily enough otherwise, but it's good to know that going in because it plays such a big part in the sequel. The movie fell in love with the shaky-cam style at times. One part in particular sticks out. The camera falls on the ground and video then falters to make the shot jittery. Even when the camera was still, they managed to create a way to shake or blur the video.

Even with that said, Rec 2 was one of my favorite movies at Fantastic Fest 2009. The movie does a great job of playing with a non-linear story (making you rethink parts of the movie when some plot/character point is revealed) and creating tension. Definitely recommend this when it comes to your local theater or out on DVD
