While Dani is by far my favorite of the New Mutants, I hope they dont focus solely on her in this story, but rather on ties the others had to Asgard as well. Obviously Dani's was the most long lasting and far reaching, but there are other stories to tell with the other characters too.

I think Messiah Complex would have been incomplete without Layla and Madrox. Sure, the rest of X-Factor was extraneous but then again they're always extraneous. And the New Mutants live on the island and have their own comic book, so, yes, it makes sense.

Unknowingly by teaming with Tryp he triggers the set of events that kills his family - this happens when Fitzroy sends him back in time in order to save everybody. He lands 40 years back (the pressent I think) in his old home where the sentinel explodes killing his family which started the whole thing.

Layla - After jumping into the time-gate with Jamie (Mesiah Complex) she lives and works with Ruby and the rest of the gang. Using her ability to "know-stuff" she guides them in order to compansate against Tryp. She is present when Fitzroy is killed and revives him (soulless) which allows Fitzroy in turn to kill Cortex (Jamie dupe) and to send the big Sentinel back in time. Then she travels back in time along with Jamie and informs her younger self of what is to come. In order to insure these events she even downloads the knowledge into her younger-self's brain. Which in turn allows young Layla to do all of her stuff

Me too, but first we still have to see how sales respond to being in those big events. #5 wasn't really branded as a tie-in, so we'll have to wait for the sales for #6 to see if they change significantly.

And who knows--Messiah War led to both books holding on to significant gains. New Mutants might yet profit.

Well, we'll get two issues in between Necrosha and Siege, and I forget when Second Coming starts precisely.

Having them involved in the expansive Marvel Universe only increases their worth, in my opinion. It shows that they matter. Better than having them run rampant on their own mini-adventures, a la Young X-Men, while massive crisis is taking place with the rest of the X-verse? Weak.
I'm in favor of any and all stories involving these characters. Regardless of the plot's direction, the focus is still on the characters, as Mr.Wells has adeptly proven with these last two issues especially. :smile:

I'd have to agree. I noticed she was the only New Mutant on the cover of Nation X #1. Although to be fair she has been absent from comics from the longest time. I'd prefer to see some focus on Bobby and Amara though. (As an aside, did they always shorten Roberto to Bobby in the past? I had thought he was generally referred to as 'Berto as a shortened name? Would seem the better choice considering the X-Men already have a Bobby in Iceman...).

Sunspot was often referred to as "Bobby" in the original New Mutants series; it wasn't a problem because Iceman was off in the Defenders when NM started. Once Drake returned to the X-fold, it gradually started to become more the practice to refer to Sunspot as "'Berto." I don't think it was an immediate change (although my memory's crap, so don't trust me), but eventually it became the norm.

Kinda like how Two-Face's last name was changed after his first appearance from "Kent" to "Dent" so dumb kids wouldn't think he was related to Superman or nothin'.

I'm curious, too, GambitXRemy. I agree, but I'm seriously biased. :smile: I admit, I resent Sam. I've always thought Dani was written out of New Mutants to make Sam look better.
