So, since these alternate universe books seem to be the start of a trend, why not revamp Shatterstar and develop the character as his creator might've had he not left for Image? New and improved! Totally not gay! With more muscles than actually exist in the human body, freakishly small feet, and pouches... millions of pouches!

Deadpool's not boring; properly written he's Marvel's most appealing hero since early Spider-Man.

Nonsense. Although currently overused, his combination of madcap antics and interesting adventure stories makes for the sort of stuff I think that Marvel's always excelled at: "fun" comics. The company does far too little of that nowadays, with the exception of the very entertaining Incredible Hercules. Give me something I enjoy reading over endless angst, super-events and continuity wank-fests any day.

Starting a thread for the sole purpose of bashing someone is not cool or very mature. It's meanspirited and juvenile.

It'll still be unintentionally homoerotic.

Most superhero comics feature extremely muscular men running around in what looks like a combination of spandex and body paint; I'm pretty sure they're all at least a little homoerotic.

First of all Hellion is a fictional character not a real person. Second and though I despise the character, that thread was not started to bash the character. I was asking a serious question.
This thread is a thinly disguised thread to bash or ridicule Rob Leifeld. I find it in poor taste.

Why so serious? The dour killjoy demeanor of some people on these forums really weirds me out... there's a 15+ page thread of people bitching about the continuity of a book that itself isn't part of regular continuity, so people are going and complaining about it not matching 1991 continuity. The mind boggles.

I find Deadpool to be the MOST annoying character in all of Marvel. I can get why he'd appeal to some but he annoys the heck out of me. I can not read any title with him. Cable is in my top 4 for favorite X-man, and I couldnt read C&DP bc they tied him downt o DP in that series.

this would be so freakin EXTREME!
can the first issue have a foil-embossed hologram cover, and come polybagged with an Upper Deck trading card?
I'd buy like ten copies for investment purposes!!!

Of course, the foil-embossed hologram would have to be a full page action scene, with Shatterstar heroically posed to be visible through the matte die-cut card-stock cover slip, all for a low price of $9.99.

all 3 are good characters actually, though deadpool can get on my nerves a bit. Cable is the best character in comics, and on that point we shall not debate. My mind is firmly set.

I'm with you, InSovietRussia. I've seen open heart surgeries that are less serious than this forum. I think it probably explains the decline in wider participation. Very few people want to hang out with pedantic wanks voluntarily.
Back on track, I like my Shatterstar gay. It's literally the only interesting thing about him (and makes him even more stereotypical, gays in Hollywood!).

If you consider those three boring I have to wonder who you find particularly exciting?

It doesn't matter if I think they're dumb characters or not. If you like them, it defeats the purpose of mocking Rob Liefeld's legacy. Those 3 are rejected G.I.Joe figures with guns, they're ill fitting in the mutant universe. The worst thing he brought to super hero genre was oversized gunz. And it's the one thing that's still enduring.

Considering the number of threads and blog entries dedicated to X-Factor #45 in which this revelation was made, I really have no idea how you missed it.

Probably was busy debating, at length about Jean Grey/Phoenix/Rachel somewhere else on the forum, if I had to venture a guess.

I bring good news, they've already done X-Force Forever. Cable died for the 10th time at the end. Deadpool, Domino and Cable have all died and resurected 23113 times. I have the tradepaperback.

G.I. Joe is exciting. More so than any of the characters in your avatar. I'd take Snake Eyes, Scarlett and Gung-ho over all of the New/Young X-men combined (as well as many of the other less forgettable X-men supporting cast too).

I loved GI Joe too when I was a kid! I nearly watched the movie this summer. All I'm getting at is there's nothing wronger with Shatterstar than those 3.
I've never read New X-Men except for 2 issues by Ramos. I just enjoyed the drama escalation in this scene. If you want to hurt me, post mean things about Gambit.
