Ever since the rumor about a main character getting offed started circulating, I've been watching each episode through my proverbial fingers. I can't think of a single character on the series whose loss wouldn't trigger an exodus of a portion of the audience.
That quote from Masi Oka sounded WAY too much like a good bye.
Damn.

HIRO GETS A SECOND CHANCE TO SAVE THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE – JAYMA MAYS RETURNS AS CHARLIE – When Hiro (Masi Oka) travels three years into the past, he has a second chance to save Charlie (guest star Jayma Mays) from the hands of Sylar (Zachary Quinto). However, Samuel’s (Robert Knepper) presence serves to complicate Hiro’s mission even further. Elsewhere, H.R.G.’s (Jack Coleman) past is revealed. James Kyson Lee, Hayden Panettiere and Sendhil Ramamurthy also star. Elizabeth Rohm, Danielle Savre, Sally Champlin and Dawn Olivieri also guest star.
Did I just read that correctly? Is he coming back or is this just a misprint? I'm thinking its a misprint because it says "star" (as he was regarding the whole series), and whoever typed it didn't realize that particular character is no longer on the show.
Edit: I actually haven't seen the recent episode yet, so he may have already came back and I'm just in the dark. =P

Me too. I've called him Jar Jar Hiro since day one and think the show would be infinitely improved without him.

He is suppose to return and reveal a brand new threat or something like that.
I don't know if they wrote it that way and gave the actor a break or if the actor needed a break and they wrote it in like that

Wouldn't be funny if he brought past Sylar to the current Heroes timeline?
Three Sylars!

I had that very thought actually:
Hiro gets killed in the past by Sylar, who gets his power. Possibly after Hiro sends Charlie to the future to save her.
Buuut, I also think that'd probably get a little too crazy and Sylar-heavy even for this show. But I'm still not sure Hiro's going to survive the episode, especially as it's during the early portion of sweeps.

The one thing that gets me about Hiro being able to stop Sylar and save Charlie is why didn't badass future Hiro do it. He said the only thing that worked to stop New York from exploding is "saving the cheerleader".
So I assume that stopping Sylar from killing Charlie would cause the destruction of New York somehow

Like Samuel stressed to Hiro, if you want to change just one thing you just change the one thing. In this case, it's save Charlie. That doesn't necessarily mean stopping Sylar and risk altering the future in a major way. For instance, if he were just to teleport Charlie away from Texas, it only stops Sylar from acquiring her power. That shouldn't affect anything regarding season 1's overall plot (NY going boom) since her power didn't play a major part in that (not like Ted's ability was). If anything, past-Sylar would just be like "damn, she's not here...oh well, on to Homecoming!"

did he use Charlies power at all?
For instance, if he were just to teleport Charlie away from Texas
She'd still die of a tumor. My guess for now is that he takes her to the present. Last he saw him Peter was going to bring Hiro a cure for his cancer. Surely Hiro's smart enough to think:"hey he could save charlie too". Then again it's Heroes.

Only once that I've seen and that was in the online comic (I refuse to call them graphic novels).

I didn't forget about her illness. My comment was to those assuming Hiro's efforts to save Charlie will force him to confront Sylar and somehow affect the current storyline regarding him and his memories (or create a paradox to season 1's plot).
Either way, I'm really looking forward to this episode.

It looks more like Sylar is going to help Hiro save Charlie.
Please, I hope he doesn't.

I think Hiro dying would help the show.no way. hiro is one of if not my top fav char.
he brings the heart to heroes.
the only char i wouldnt mind see dying off is Maya. her power is too dangerous & her acting bothers me; maybe her crying seems too fake i dunno.
i wish they kept Jeremy alive instead. he might have actually been a threat to sylar if the other heroes could neutralize him enough to get touched.

Maya hasn't shown up for a LONG time buddy,
