Okay, bare with me on this... But I think I may have the solution to the "Is baby Hope the mutant Anti-Christ?" problem
Since time travel seems to be the backbone to the whole "Messiah Trilogy", I think Cable and Bishop should get together and kill the child... !!! But,, hold on... RELAX! Thats not all! After the deed is done, they can both travel together to the future and see the results of their little "experiment"... If things are all good, then Bishop was right! BUT, if the world is still a toilet, then that just proves lil' Hope wasn't so bad after all... :frown:
The way I see it... As long as we have the ability to time travel, anything that's done can be undone, by just hoping back to a few minutes before a mistake is made and warning "said person" of the consequences???
Am I wrong???

is Hope volunteering for this? what if her power is invulnerability? the attempt on her life by the guy who raised her might drive her flipping insane.

That's why I mentioned the "time travel mulligan"... If Hope goes all "Dark Phoenix" and starts melting people's face's... We can just BEEP BOOP BEEP back too the past.
DO OVER!!! LOL

Seeing they time-traveled a lot already, why are't there multiple Bishops and Cables running around then? If it supposedly would work on Hope, why not those 2? Plus Hope did a lot of time hopping anyways, not saying it's a bad idea or anything...

I think cyclops should convice all the teenagers to do it and see if their kids are mutants. Though for some like Rockslide and Onyxx their screwed.

If they wanted to use time-travel to get out of this mess -- wouldn't it be easier to go back and shoot Wanda before she says no more mutants?

Forge already solved the mutant problem but because he didnt bow down to Cyclops he was killed.

To be fair if Hope's power is invulnerability they could just time travel to the night of the conception and stop it before it starts.

The big problem with time travel is it's one big cure-all. As writing tools go it's the laziest get out there is.

Time Travel in the Marvel Universe doesn't work that way, though.
Changing the past just creates an alternate timeline, it doesn't erase the one that already existed. Going back and shooting Wanda just creates a separate timeline where mutants still exist. Meanwhile in the 616 Marvel U...still no mutants.
You know what I'd like though? I'd like Hope to somehow erase the gawdawfully overused "Days of Future Past/Mutant Oppression/Whatever" timelines once and for all, so the X-Men writers can maybe come up with some semi-original ideas and the future can just be "unwritten."

Am I wrong???wrong. Cable can only travel to the future, not past. If he kills Hope, she's dead and gone
Okay, bare with me
But we haven't been introduced.

My understanding is that Cable is farther from the future than Bishop. So while Bishop may be right, Cable is more right because he can see a bigger picture. If Cable knows that the baby is important to save the future than he is probably right. That is what I got from Messiah Complex anyway. He seemed to know how she saves the future or something. Or has that already been retconned?

Divergent time stream.

Divergent time stream.
Ah. So at this point we are fighting over whose timestream gets screwed. Then by Marvel logic there is no way to "stop" Bishop's future, because it already is and ever will be, just like all the other futures. At this point are we just trying to keep the 616 from becoming Bishop's future as well?

Bishop probably has the time-locking mechanism from his era's Dr. Doom. When he kills Hope, he can ensure it still affects his time-line.

Its all Cyclop's fault. His absentee fathering is killin the mutants. Its okay tho--Wolverine's kids will bring balance.

Time travel is like a Michael Bay summer blockbuster, all flashy and exciting and full of fun...until you start to think about it. Then it gets messy, confusing, and downright silly.
It is trulylazy writing.
I wish Marvel-and especially the X-titles-would stop using it ALL the time.
Bishop and Cable should off each other at the end of this storyline, while Rachel gets offed in space and Ruby Summers...well...just keep her where she is and forget she ever existed...
