hi. i'm new and this is my firstthread so...y'know.....be gentle.
Ok, so we all know that Monet st. Croix has gotten some attention lately more so than her former Gen-X team mates but honestly why is everyone trying to turn her into the newest incarnation of Emma Frost?! This post is for M purists who want to see her maintained as her own individual character and not some dark brown Stepford Cuckoo. *sigh* let the D-list appreciation comments commence.http://www.facebook.com/profile/pic.php?uid=AAAAAQAQDObvZj_bb-W5UsKWrR3SNQAAAAqTW-Qd0Kp8Jc2Ao5Lf-BXJ

Shortpack needs saving more than Monet. she's already perfect and appearing regulary. plus she predates the Cuckoos.

Wouldn't it be more like Emma is becoming Monet??
M's always been a bizzo. Has Emma always been this way, or was it mostly Morrison who made her a bitch?

It only becomes pointless went people start posting non-reverent content. Monet, although a great character has at the moment lost my interest ever since "Divided We Stand." I, for one would like to know where Nicole and Claudette St. Croix are (last seen in Generation-x #58.)

Yeah! Lets take our tops off, roll around in mud, walk through the streets NAKED with picket signs until they SAVE the MONET.
Maybe if we start to carpool daily, or if we fight secondhand smoke with hugs and kisses... or if we wrap our genitals in rubber... we can save Monet!

where are you geetting everyone trying to turn her into Emma? Who else is writing her besides PAD? Besides Monet has always been similar to Emma. They had alot in common in Gen X and thats probably why they didnt get along bc their similar personalities clashed

Exactly... they both thought they knew everything, they both like to think they come from high class backgrounds and money and they both have attitude for days... that's the reason they always clashed.

Actually Monet and Emma are a different kind of "bitchy". While Emma's bitchiness comes across petty and sexualized, what makes Monet's "bitchiness" so interesting is that she isn't trying to be bitchy. She just knows that she really is smarter and prettier and more talented than everyone else. She isn't being rude, she just is surrounded by inferior people and tells the truth no matter how harsh. They are quite different in that respect.

Indeed Slung. M's attitude comes from her knowing she is superior. Emma's attitude comes from her insecurity because she knows she is not superior.

Incorrect. Emma's bitchyness comes from Old Age

Puh-lease... If anything, Emma's trying to be more like The M.

You are both correct. Old Age -> Insecurity -> Bitchiness.
