so i guess i'm the only person that went and saw this film this weekend judging by the money it made lol, or the lack there of. but i was pleasantly surprised (considering i thought imagi's TMNT was bland) and actually teared up at certain scenes. now granted i'm a HUGE Astro Boy fan, and a fan of the creator as well...the modern series being my favorite incarnation of the character, so there might be some bias on my part. the only complaint i had about the film was that they kinda glossed over the ethic and morals which brought Astro Boy to be. yeah i know it's a kids movie but still...all in all i enjoyed it. i feel bad for imagi studio as i was looking forward to their Gotchaman. the failure of this film an their financial problems make their future look real bleak.

My 14 yr old daughter & I went to see it this weekend & we both really enjoyed it. I think it would have done better if it was released a month from now.

I thought it was great. It had tons of heart and was much better than TMNT in my opinion. I hope more folks end up seeing it.

...I presume it is CGI animated ? Maybe that seems an ultra-obvious question , but , the reviews I read didn't actually SAY:tongue: ...........

I want to see this but I thik they did a lousy job of hyping this film. I didn't see anyone on TV talking about it and trying to sell it and the trailer for it when it came to having the characters talk was boring. Trailers are everything. I don't doubt it's a fun movie but I could be bias as I like Astroboy as a character.

i think this movie suffered from the same fate as ''9'', (basically being too dark)
it was also kinda under promoted. dark cartoons never do well in America.

best interpretation of astroboy ever

I've seen the 60's version...it scared me immensely.

the 80's version main redeeming quality is great designs for aliens and atlas.

2000 was almost as bad as the 60's version.

the movie was obviously made by fans but reinterpreted the story and made it work...well done.

please see this movie...I really want the sequal where we see astro fight atlas :D

Not great, but not bad either. Nothing really stood out that isn't in trillions of other CGI movies. The comedy could've been funnier too, especially in comparison to Pixar movies.

What they did do right was that it stayed true to the Astro Boy mythos, while at the same time made a few changes that actually make sense. The father and son relationship presented was also convincing. Otherwise, this was a very average movie sad to say.
