I liked all those scenes except for the one with Cassandra. Jean Grey beating her with the Power of Friendship was one of the great flaws of the run. So cheesy.

while his art isn't for all, there's no denying he's one of the best storytellers in comics. Everything he draws is so detailed and epic. I was looking at the sequence again and I thought something was wrong, turned out I posted two of the pics in the wrong order. Fixed. Better now.

Yes, Land's Emma is dreadful. In that way, it is a perfect match for Fraction's writing. I do hope they take their talent to a title more deserving, something like "Hulk" or "Red Hulk", no doubt.

Yes, but Emma is an elitist, quite snobbish and not a lowly scrubber: she is an ice queen, someone who, as has been mentioned, employs a "look but no touch" policy, she uses her exterior as an advantage over weak-willed men: it is not for the benefit of others, it is for her own benefit to use as a weapon. She should not look as common as Land portrays her.

Her clothes are screaming "come do me". Is the look on her face or her atttiude screaming "come do me"? The first pic she is burning a heart and her look in the second pic borders on contempt. Like I said, it's subtle, but there is a difference.

That's her weapon: To get the male interested enough to wonder how he can actually get the look on her face to match what her clothes are telling him, keep him trying please her just enough to push her over the edge where she says "Yes", but ultimately keep him confused and at bay.

Believe me, I have seen a lot of women try it. It is very hard to pull off successfully for any length of time for more than "Buy me a drink." At some point someone always crosses a line, but a telepath doesn't have to worry about that of course.

While I don't love the character, I agree with the rest of your sentiment. I suppose comics have been targeting pre-pubescent boys since the early 90's and I guess it hasn't changed. I have always thought that the way these women are drawn WITH clothes were more seductive and erotic than if they were just naked. Just look at any of the Grimm Fairy Tales for example.
