Kamaal The Abstract by Q-Tip
An album without a clear genre. Jazz, rock, soul, funk, rap (of course), R&B. Definitely an interesting album from a philosophical standpoint. The songs, for the most part, are strong, too.

The last two albums I got were Metric's new album Fantasies and Tegan and Sara's new album Sainthood which I downloaded the other day and have been listening to non stop.
And new bands?
Little Boots is someone who deserves to be famous. Her music is amazing.
And lately I have also been getting back into all the funk bands I used to like, such as Parliament (and the umpteen thousand other names they've been known as) and Sly & The Family Stone.

The Birthday Massacre - kind of like the 90's band Curve or an edgier version of Garbage.
Metric - I've only actually heard the one song, Help I'm Alive, but I can't get enough of it.

I purchased "Lungs" by Florence And The Machine last week and I've played the CD about two-dozen times now. Love it!

I don't know how new it counts as, but I can't stop listening to Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest.

Agreed about Q-Tip, Florence and the Machine, and Grizzly Bear.
They've actually been around for a few years, but I've really been digging Rock City Morgue's latest, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf. A few samples of their horror-fueled punkish rock. (http://www.jyuenger.com/?p=492)

I did not expect that at all.

I just heard a six song EP by a band out of Minnesota called Gospel Gossip. The name of the EP is "Dreamland". Sort of shoegazy. Reminds me of early 90s Pixies (female lead singer) a little bit.

Haven't really found any new acts in the past few months.......Most recent bands I had gotten into, the past year or so, are these:
IAMX
The Birthday Massacre
Royal Visionaries
Got a little more into She Wants Revenge and Yeah Yeah Yeahs........I liked one song by each of them, previously, but discovered a few more songs, by each band, that tickled my fancy.
