Coast City's Destruction...

Hi All,

I'm new to green lantern and was just curious as to when coast city was destroyed??? ie What book or books and which issues... I know it was in the 1990's...

It was during the Reign of Supermen arc in the Supermen books. You can find the exact destruction happening in Superman 80. The aftermath continued after that, and followed in Green Lantern in issue 46 (IIRC)

You can find it all in "the return of superman" tpb.

Long story short -
Basically , Hal Jordan was out in space doing the bidding of his oan master at the time in the "trinity" crossover with legion & darkstar , superman was "dead" , there were 4 superman pretenders to the throne , one of them was evvvviillll - and he and Mongol destroyed coast city and blame it on the other superman pretender.
By the time Hal came back , he found engine city in place of where coast city used to be , the real superman came back and beat the evvvill pretender and Hal beat Mongul.Got it ? :wink:
