Wow, I can't believe this thread hasn't be started yet....

I am no good w/ reviews so I'll keep it to a minimum.

Main points:

-General Lane assigns Reactron to Squad K against the wishes of Colonel Hazard.
- Lois meets with Chris and Lana. Lana is sick.
- Squad K passes them by, but Chris doesn't want to endanger Lois and Lana so he shows himself to lead Squad K away from them
- Kara and Thara almost start talking things out when they too see Squad K pass them. They follow suit fearful that they are hunting Chris.
- Squad K gets a lock on the three Kryptonians and a chase ensues.
- Reactron implodes a building in the meanwhile, which really pisses off Hazard.
- Squad K follows the Kryptonians into the sewers where Chris decides to surrender in order to stop the chase.
- They all get fitted with some nifty red sun collars.
- They tell Hazard that they were framed for all the damage in Paris etc and it was all Reactron and his homies.
- Just when they are getting through to Hazard that he may be following corrupt orders Reactron sneaks up and kills him.
- Then he grabs Supergirl and says the red collars do the trick, but aren't quite up to the Gold Standard.

DUN DUN DUN!!!!!!!!!

So... I loved this issue. Reactron insists he's under orders to commit the atrocities and I suppose he is. I'm not sure how I feel about Sam Lane becoming a total villain....

I'm curious as to what is ailing Lana, I love love loved the scene where Chris speeds off but not before he kisses Lois on the cheek w/ an "I love you, Mom" *cute*

I'm wondering if the red sun collars will backfire like they did with Chris' red sun watch when he was a kid.

I feel like action comics is far and away the best of the Superman titles going at the moment!

Unlikely. It was stated it worked differently on him BECAUSE he's a kid, and he's grown up now. Actually, I prefer to think it worked on him AT ALL because he was a kid; I hate the attempt to return to the "red solar energy negates powers imediately. It seems since they've tried upping Clarks powers to silver age levels, they've overcompensated by giving him far more crippling weeknesses...thus a whole squad of Supermen in pitched battle with Thanagarians for more than 7 seconds.

Yeah, the problem with the red sun watch was that it was designed for use on a six foot three, two hundred and twenty five pound man. Not for a six year old boy. Hence wearing it for as long as he did, caused Chris to become ill and his powers to backfire. The collars here are specifically attuned to their bodies.

I can not believe how much I love Action comics right now. Thara has become one of my favorite DC characters. I actually got excited when it finally looked like Kara and Thara were going to have a moment together. I only fear that they will decide to make Thara crazy after all or worse yet kill off one of the two at the end of the New Krypton arc. But the entire Superman line has been fantastic lately.

Well goodbye Colonel Hazzard, we barely knew him.

I agree on all accounts. I'm worried about Chris and Thara being written out once the New Krypton storyline ends. I wasn't very fond of of them at first, but I am really loving them now.

The art still sucks. This work is simply not at the professional level for a book as prestigious as Action.
I say this every month and will continue until they can put a good artist on Action.
So why isn't Cafu doing the main story, he is clearly a much better artist than Perez.
The anatomy and figures are weak the backgrounds are sparse, the faces all look the same.
Simply not good enough for this book.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. I don't care much for the art in most of the main Superman titles at the moment.

Gary Frank is awesome and I love that he's working on Secret Origin, but otherwise the books look too .... smudgy? Its not bad to the point of distracting from the story, but this book could be taken to another level with better art for sure.

I don't think that Pere Perez and Fernando Dagnino are that bad as artists. As I've said, I've seen way worse than these two. As to Cafu, he might not be able to do 22 pages a month. Ten pages isn't as difficult.

Fernando did stunning work in the Secret Files. I get the feeling he rushes himself for a monthly

I don't care for Dagnino but I think Pere Perez is good.

I really didn't have any problems with the art. I enjoyed it well enough. A definite improvement over the art in some previous issues.

I'm enjoying this Hunt for Reactron arc more than I thought it would. At first, i wasn't thrilled with the idea of a crossover with Supergirl because I'm not a big fan of that book's handling. This has been pretty fun though.

I was shocked that the Squad K guys bought it though. Kinda like when Robinson offed those Science Police officers early on in his run. Very sudden.

The Captain Atom co-feature continues to be great as well.
