Is Etrigon supposed to be evil or good?
In some issues he works with the good guys, but in others he has no problem eating and killing people.
What about his Jason Blood form too? He is an ally and enemy sometimes.

Jason Blood is good.
Etrigan is...elemental. Beyond such categorizations. Basically, though, if you annoy him, or if you threaten some balance, or if he's ordered by hell...he'll kill you in a heart beat.
It's kind of like Lobo...is he really evil? Well, yeah, probably, but he's worked for the good guys enough, thanks to circumstance, that it's somewhat debatable.

Currently he is evil being a demon from the lower pit of hell, but he is bonded to Jason Blood who sometimes fights on the side of good.

I'd be cool with an Etrigan ongoing. I loved the episodes when he'd show up in old DCAU episodes.

He had one a few years ago, written and drawn by John Byrne. It wasn't bad, actually, although thie story got muddled towards the end when Byrne had to rush to wrap it up when the book was canceled.

How great was the Ennis run on The Demon? The Nineties were very interesting times for Blood and Etrigan.

Yeah, the Demon actually lasted a long time as an ongoing - over 60 issues, as i recall - most of which were written by Alan Grant, but the high point was certainly the Ennis run (one of the characters carried over to his Hitman series as well).
At the time it was running concurrently with Ellis' Hellstorm, which was also a really good (very John Constantin-ish) run.
Neither of them did well in sales, of course, but they were running at least! I don't think magical characters were ever that popular, at either company, again.

I can only imagine which character that was.....
(I'm referring to Tommy Monaghan himself, introduced in the DEMON Bloodlines annual, but IIRC Baytor also debuted as a character in DEMON too.)

I own and have read all of Ennis's Demon work and it is amazing. Ennis does an awesome job with the rhyming and some issues really stand out like issue 50 is a great betrayal pirate story. He wrote issues 40-59 I think. I was disappointed with Etrigan's little cameo this week and the fact he didn't rhyme. :(

Why would Deadman rhyme?

Why would Deadman rhyme?
Deadman seems kinda comedic enough to at least try and fail. But given the circumstances, probably not a good idea to use your one's comedic stylings.
Though he kinda did when he left Etrigan's body and the Demon noticed him & yelled at him (Deadman found a word similar to "flotsam" to rhyme to - that alone is impressive).

Etrigan is a Demon and by nature Evil (or at least looking out for his own interests), but he's also been bonded to Blood and was subservient to Merlin's interests (how much that still holds is debatable).
The best Demon story outside of Kirby is still his appearance in Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, which summed up the Blood/Etrigan relationship perfectly.

Great character but I *** HATE *** the whole rhyming thing.

I rather liked Walt Simonson's answer to that with using Iambic Pentameter. The form loved by Shakespeare seems befitting a Demon tied to Old English myth and Arthurian legend.
But of course, "Gone, gone, the form of man ..." is essential.
