Bring back Checkmate!

Do it! Greg Rucka's run on Checkmate was damn good, as good as Gotham Central to me. It was the DC version of Ed Brubaker's Cap work and Bendis's Daredevil: Gritty fun stuff that was very noir and behind the scenes. Intrigue in a world of x-ray vision! :cool:

Yeah, Checkmate was brilliant while Rucka and Trautmann were on it. I'd actually rather see that continue than Shield, but I'll take what I can get.

Trautmann has demonstrated himself to be so good solo that I'd love to see him take over some sort of title like this. Heck, if Checkmate is too 'radioactive' because of the failure of the last series, make it a series about SHADE or the Global Peace Agency (though both would be notably more sci-fi/magic, I should think, than Checkmate...but that seems to be more in keeping with what Trautmann is so good at).

Yes, I agree Checkmate went heavily downhill after Rucka left. Hell, we should make a lot of people happy by bringing him back to work on it and have them contact the BoP for a "job". :smile:
