Morrison keeps saying to look to Batman #666 for clues as to what will come. In the story Damien says that Batman dies, and thus he becomes the new Batman. Later there is an image that shows two Batmen and Damien, with the middle batman being the one shown dead in an ealier panel.

Through out the book we get hints that Damien promises not to kill, yet still commits murder at the end of the story. We also get from Barbara Gordon that Damien is reponsible for the death of a "friend".

Add that with theories to Dick being killed or seriously hurt for Bruce to become Batman again it all points to Damien being involved with Dick's demise.

any theories?

I'm sorry but absolutely not.

I presume you mean you just don't want that to happen.

Because otherwise your post is not a very good refutation of the theory.

It could happen. But we all know Bruce will be back before too long, so the bulk of #666 won't be coming to pass. But the original poster's theory could be true.

Be interesting to see what Dick's death would do to Bruce. It would be nice if it had the opposite effect that Jason's had. If he learned from Dick's example and became a kinder, gentler bat.

That's a future we will never see. Damian is about 13 or 14 when he makes his deal with the devil, and right now he's only 10. And it doesn't imply that Damian killed Dick, just that he was apparently responsible for his death.

In that "Untold Legend" page that shows Damian!Batman's origin, they show Damian screaming with the dead body of Dick under him like Bruce was with his parents, so I assume that he won't actually try to kill Dick.

no, but barbara gordon holds him responsible. What I'm saying is taht Damien will have a major negative impact on Dick. He will be directly responsible for his 'death" by killing him or he'll mess up (as he did in a couple of the previous B&R issues) and that will lead to dick's "death".

I know the issue wont happen as is, but GM says there are tons of clues regarding his plans. look at the stuff that has come out, Damien as Robin, a "dead batman", professor pyg, falmingo, phospherous rex, the "reveal" that hurt was the devil.

It's like I said all along, Damien will be Dick's downfall as Batman. :frown:

Batman #666 is not a set in stone future story. It was more of a "What if Bruce never returns" type of scenario where Dick is killed in Action, and Damian grows up to be Batman, honoring them. With the numbering, I think it was meant to be all Gotham dystopia and with the biblical references. Anything is possible, but I don't see everything in that issue happening. Some of it will, like we've seen Pyg. But still, if Dick does die, Damian would be indirectly responsible but I don't see him directly being his killer.

Yeah, while Morrison has been using that to establish new villains (Pyg, the Flamingo), I think a lot of that story was mostly Morrison seeing an opportunity that would never happen again in telling a story about the apocolypse on Batman #666 and couldn't pass up on it.

I don't buy into the future seen in 666 too much. Dick's not going to die. Damian will not sell his soul. He probably will be instrumental against Dr Hurt when he returns though

the main thing I want to see out of 666 is more of the villains: Jackanapes. Candyman, Max Robota...who are these guys? But most of all, there was someone called Loveless. Now that's a name I want to know more about

I'm interested in Candyman. The name sounds like he has potential to be a creep villain

My theory is that we're going to see Damian "take the bullet" for Dick. Eventually, we're going to see that situation happen where Dick dies as shown in the #666 flashback, but instead Damian will die. The #666 future will exist only as a "what could've been" future if Damian survived and Dick did not.
