View Full Version : Which Flash did you like more: Flash Rebirth Barry or Wedneday Comics Barry?

I guess this isn't really a fair comparison given that one story is about Barry's return and all the retcons that it encompasses vs a light hearted more Silver Age tone comic strip and we probably might see the more lighter Barry once his book starts. But eh, what the hell I'll still ask.

Which Barry did you guys prefer?

I'm not sure there really WAS much of a Barry in Wednesday Comics.

Not to say I didn't enjoy the story, mind you -- it was one of my favorite of the anthology, and I enjoyed the crazy science take more than I am Rebirth, but Barry himself, as a character, didn't come across to me strongly.

So....New Frontier Barry for the win. :)

Id like to point out that the reason Barry's being all mopey in Flash: Reibrth is because the finale will probably have him be his true self again. Its titled "Rebirth" for a reason.

As of Flash: Rebirth, Barry is just another "hero" with a chip on his shoulders and not much to make him interesting in any way at all.

Easily one of the worst returns of a classic character, with terrible writing and terrible art.

I'll take the Wednesday Barry any time.

I thought the return was handled very well in Final Crisis.

Rebirth is more like Barry settling in.

That said, I prefer Wednesday Barry because he is much more fun and I hope that is the Barry we end up with once Rebirth ends.

Wednesday Comics Barry is the one I understand him being more like.

Rebirth Barry seems far too much like Johns' Hal in ways. And I'm not liking it.

I like both, and actually there's a lot of overlap. Both are racing at the expense of personal relationships. Both need to slow down and live in the moment.

I've really enjoyed Rebirth a lot. I was dismayed when they were bringing Barry back after the great sacrifice in Crisis, but it has been really good so far and makes sense.

Though I figured that Rebirth would directly lead into Blackest Night: Flash, which is why it has been delayed.

I like all the Flash characters and have thought they have each brought something fresh and interesting to the table. I hope that continues.
