Well, season 2 began last night. I have to say I really enjoyed the first season, and last nights episode has me excited for the second season.

Some spoilers: So Ashley now has various powers, enhanced strength, teleportation, can extend her fingernails like a vamp, and can regen from bullet wounds in a matter of seconds. The Cabal has created another 5 soldiers just like her, set to take on the Sanctuary in the next episode.

Other than that, we find out that Bigfoot is refusing to take the cure for the disease from last seasons finale and is slowly dying. Also Tesla and John(Ashley's father) seem to have joined the Sanctuary team, at least for now. They encounter Ashley at the end of the episode, but get owned by her rather quickly.

I have to say I really enjoy the character of Tesla, hope to see him more often.

A solid returning ep. The CGI has gotten a lot better.

I hope they actually cut loose with the attack in the next episode. The Cabal itself really hasn't made itself anything threatening. The stuff with Ashley reminded me of the Winter Soldier storyline. Could have done without the faux leather outfit, but the actress is hot.lol

I can't stand Amanda Tapping's accent that keeps me from watching the show

Damn, pretty depressing episode...

Seems they do prevent the main Sanctuary from falling even though several other Sanctuary's from around the world fell and a lot of people died, but not before Will's gf is killed, and Ashley is killed as well. In the end she becomes herself again and purposely teleports while holding another super soldier while the EM field was active, which vaporizes them both. A bittersweet victory if there ever was one. I have to say I enjoyed Ashley as a character, hopefully they find a way to bring her back

This season is looking to be quite good, they got off to a really good start so far.

I rolled my eyes with the first female casualty. Why the crap did she stay behind? The attackers "sensed" she was there, but didn't notice the guy hiding under a work bench? Come on.

If you're talking about Will's gf I agree. She should of just tried to escape with Will. It was a stupid, pointless death.

You do realize that is her normal accent. She is British, and affected and american accent for Stargate. And I think she is so much sexier as a dark haired Brit then she was as a blond American.

It's a shame you are going to let a little thing like an accent keep you from watching a really interesting show. Like any show, it isn't without it's problems, but it is generally a really interesting and fun show.

I admit hearing her talk with that accent did throw me at first, but after a few episodes you really do get used to it.

Solid series, I'm impressed what they did with such a low budget

I've been enjoying this season so far. I especially enjoyed the episode with the super-hero. I'm hoping we see more of Druitt and Tesla before the season ends. Also still holding out hope maybe Ashley will come back.

What? No love for the Bollywood finale?

i LOVED it. reminded me of my friend ram's wedding. and i'll be damned if old boy wasn't legitimately getting down with his kali inspired sickness......

and the fact that the most dangerous / powerful abnormal on the planet was a giant crab......

i can say i'm glad i've never gotten THAT particular species of crabs on my fluffy bits.

What are you talking about?!?!

She came to Ontario at 3 years old and grew up in Canada from then on (We went to the same university, only vastly different times!). Her accent, if she even had one, has been LONG gone.

Even watch her interviews and listen to her Stargate commentaries. Not a trace of a British accent.

For example:

Show me the accent.

All in all I disliked this season. It quickly became clear that the reasons the producers gave for killing Ashley was false. They can't do it for emotional reasons if they almost never bring it up.

The character of Kate never managed to grow on me at all and it seems almost forced that she's stayed at the Sanctuary. A loner merc in it for the money decides to stay and help because...well they really didn't give a reason.

I'd be giving up this show if it wasn't for two things. The character of Henry continues to be great. In my opinion he's the current strong point for the entire series as William and Magnus both seem to have no character progression at all.

The other thing that got me was the season finale. I'm a type of viewer that gives shows a good amount of time to recover if they start to lose me after the first season. Luckily there finale was top notch and enough to bring me back for at least a few episodes when they return.

How was Ashley never brought up? In the episodes directly following her death she was brought up several times. There was that whole episode where Magnus thought she might even still be alive. She can't spend every episode moping around over Ashley.

I don't like Kate either, but they did actually give a reason why she joined the Sanctuary. She mostly worked for the Cabal, obviously their relationship was severed when they tried to kill her. Furthermore, if she continued to go out on her own the Cabal would of eventually found and killed her.

I enjoy the characters of Druitt and Tesla as well. Last we saw Tesla he lost his vampiric powers and gained some sort of telekinetic powers, so I'm curious to see how those have progressed.

While it was mentioned briefly at first, it really didn't make big emotional changes like the producers claim. It supposedly was done to force changes in characters due to the loss of a loved one. That in my opinion didn't happen.

They also stated that Druitt and Tesla all but wiped out the Cabal. I can understand her laying low there during the first story line but that excuse quickly faded. It seemed they tried to make it look like she was just looking for a place that would accept her but fail miserably at it.

Oh I loved Druitt and Tesla too and there were some great changes done to them. But as minor characters in the show, their stories aren't enough to keep me coming back week after week.
