So much for the DESPERO subplot.

Anyone read the REBELS annual this week?

Great comic but huge spoilers for despero.

Kinda ruins robinson's first issue of JLA with him in it and now johns sub plot for him in adventure.

More ball dropping on dc's part?

Nice preview.

Oh king shark is back.

I love the fact that DC revived the title of Adventure Comics. I have been really enjoying the Superboy stories & am sad to think they are coming to an end. The Legion stories feel like filler stories to me. I think it would have been better to launch the title with Superboy with Aquaman as back up (since he has a history with Adventure). And let the Legion have their own full length book again.

And it is a great preview. I love Krypto!!!!

I don't know, the other Legionnaires are shown as older now (Element Lad's Conner's chem teacher), so why would Dreamy be able to pass as a high schooler?

Because she a girl and girls age slower then boys...well Except for Johnny Depp. He still looks the same.

Dream Girl has a phobia of losing her looks as Darkseid exposed in the great darkness saga. She also has access to 31st century plastic surgery:evilsmile:

I wonder when DC writers started believing in eugenics. With that Superboy preview...they're not even being subtle anymore.

Can't wait to see Tim and Conner interact again.

Krypto vs. Tiger Shark? Shark's goin' DOWN.

And who's the Cable wannabe on the middle-right panel?

At a guess, I'd say it's Mordru .

Is that Scavenger being attacked by Krypto? Awesome! Is he coming here as a foe or friend? Didn't they went and made a truce after Scavenger realized Superboy was not one of his enemies?

I hope they bring back his rogues. A pity Knockout is dead, though.

Scavenger was strangely manhandled by Krypto, though he may have not come with hostile intentions, which explains how he was caught offguard. I remember him being pretty powerful.

Manapul's depiction of Doomsday makes me realize how lame it was for Superman, the greatest of the superheroes, to be killed by a bipedal rock in short shorts.

Not that I care too much, but shouldn't this be in the Superman board, since Superboy and the Legion are Superman related characters?

I suppose, but it could be in both too.

Really love the art on the first page, with the flashbacks to the deaths of Superman and Superboy. Well, OK, I love ALL the art, but I really loved those two panels.

I wouldn't call what Simon is saying eugenics... it kind of makes sense that part of the personality is there from birth, though I do think Simon is oversimplifying.

"A born trouble maker?"

To which Simon states his opinion that some people are born evil right out of the womb.

That's eugenics, and it's something DC has been on a kick about for a long time. Intentional or not, it's sickening and it's old.

So you're saying that everyone is born with the same personality, a blank slate, and it's only how we're raised that makes us who we are?

You didn't read the scan very well. Simon says that it doesn't matter how one is raised. Who they are is decided solely by their genes.

Munkiman

He didn't say that outright. I'd say it's up to interpretation.

Intentional probably - It works pretty well in the context of layering more insecurities on top of someone already struggling with dual heritage.

Well, with DC's policies, he might be right.

This is because there is no gray in DC's worldview. If say Black Adam was a Marvel property he'd be an anti-hero at worst. In DC he is a mass murderer.

The idea that Kon might be evil because Lex is so crazed that I don't see how he could broach to his friends with a straight face.

Especally since as we see he is a heck of a lot more stable than Tim Drake, a guy who freaked out way harder about Kon's alleged death than his own girlfriend's-he has some real issues.

Well to be fair he did lose his dad and girlfriend all within the same time period along with Conner.

Story: Like last issue, I loved this one. It really fit's in well with the Red Robin series, too, and I really like Tim Drake's characterization in this one.

Art: I love the art in this series. What over books has Francis Manapul done?

What's disturbing is when they apply it to freakin' *genetics*. I still get shudders remembering the Titans issue where Wally rationalizes Jericho's evil behavior as being Deathstroke's son and thus having 'bad blood'.

Just read this. Why can't Johns do a Superboy ongoing instead of the Flash? This makes me smile and want more, while Flash Rebirth makes me vomit a little in my mouth.

This series is great. I'm really upset Johns is leaving. Who is the guy taking over? Is he any good?

I really fell in love with Superboy in Teen Titans. And I didn't realize it till he died and the book felt like it was missing something. I'm glad he is back. I never thought I'd be buying a Superman related series. Johns even has me liking Krypto and I didn't think that was possible.

I LOVED this, but what's the point of even putting Conner in the book if he's being booted out in favor of the Legion?

Was this just an outlet for Geoff to do some of his lost Teen Titans ideas?

That blows. According to the new Teen Titans writer, he won't be over there anytime soon either (she claimed in an interview that she "wasn't sure" if she could add him to the roster, which is bad sign:frown: ). I'm for more interested in Kon than in the umpteenth attempt at reviving the Legion.

Wiping out a country is evil. Unless you think Hitler was misunderstood with the Jews. Black Adam killed everyone in Biayla. Last I checked, that's not anti-hero.

Tim lost three people that meant a lot to him inside of a few weeks. Not spaced out over time, but almost all at once.

As I understand it, Conner's staying in Adventure for a while before Levitz takes over. He hasn't even written his frist batch of scripts yet. But he'll be popping up in either Action Comics or Superman soon.

2) Mr. Kayak wrote:
Who will be drawing Paul Levitz's Adventure Comics?

DiDio: We don't have an artist finalized right now, but we guarantee there will be an artist on board, and once we're ready to announce what issue Paul will be taking over with, we'll have the artist attached at that time.

Nrama: Does that mean Paul doesn't take over with Adventure Comics #7 once Geoff Johns' is gone after Issue #6?

DiDio: He will not be jumping on with Issue #7. He'll be coming on a little bit later down the line. There will be a couple of issues and an event taking place, a separate story arc, involving characters tied to the current goings on in the New Krypton storyline that's unfolding in Superman right now.

Nrama: So when you say Superboy may show up in other comics, does this indicate Conner's fans will see him in the Superman books?

DiDio: There's a good chance of that.

So I'd say either Robinson, Gates or Eric Trautmann (sp) will be taking over until Levitz is ready. And Conner will appear there.

RE: Adventure Comics #3 - loved the Superboy story. Johns & Manapul have revived the greatest character in the Superman Family: Krypto! Seriously great, great story. Comics book storytelling at it's best.

Re: Adventure Comics #6 solicit. Loved the cover. Felt sad that this is the last Adventure Comics I will probably get for now.
