View Full Version : Batman and (blank) in the Brave and the Bold (comics)
Is it just me or is now the absolute perfect time to return Brave and the Bold to its original concept?
With Dick as Batman, I think it fits perfectly. Dick is the natural character to carry a monthly team-up book, because some way or another, every character relates to him somehow.
I always thought that what set Dick apart from just being the guy between the Robin/Batman stages is that he's got so many personal connections all through the DCU; he's the guy to run to when you have a problem.
Anyway, I'd like to see it.

- Batman (Dick) and Red Arrow would be a fun team up.
- Batman (Dick) and Supergirl would be the most obvious, I feel.
- Batman (Dick) and Nite-Wing would be interesting, to say the least.

I never get bored with Dick Grayson and Deadman teaming up like they are doing now in the Batman:Blackest night mini series.
Dick (Batman) teaming up with the Huntress always makes for cool conversations.

This would be a great idea for when Bruce Wayne inevitably returns. It would be like the LotDK of the Batman Reborn period - let's just say there were a whole bunch of team-ups Dick and Damian went on that we never actually knew about at the time. Then we can continue the Grayson era as long as we like
You could do it with new generation characters but hell I'd simply prefer to see
Aquaman (rides a seahorse)
Swamp Thing
Hawkman
Wonder Woman
Bane
Green Arrow (Connor Hawke)

Batman and Zatanna
Batman and Mon-El

Batman and The Atom (Ryan Choi, still want more of that character)
Batman and Superman (let's see how Supes deals with a character he probably feels avuncular towards stepping into the big shoes)
Batman and the Pre-Zero Hour Legion ('cause I just can't get enough)
Batman and Guy Gardner (will they have the adversarial relationship Bruce and Guy had?).

Exactly what I think. Dick is going to be Batman a for bit longer after Bruce returns though.

There's already a Batman Brave and the Bold comic. It's not half bad either.

YES! That would work too!!

The point has been missed.

Not missed. I just don't agree with it. You want one with Dick as Batman. There is already a B:BatB series out, and I sincerely doubt DC will have two out at the same time with the exact same title, so you either cancel the current B:BatB series, which would be a waste, and DC won't do until after the cartoon is over, or you make JMS use Dick in every issue of the normal BatB series, which I doubt he'd agree to, and I doubt DC would force the issue.

It's not the same exact title. It would be the regular, in continuity Brave and the Bold title with Dick in it every month.
So while I accept the fact that you don't agree with the idea, you still missed the point of the suggestion.

I think Bruce would have been a better character for Brave and Bold...
He contrasts with everybody...Almost all his relationships are strained and complex, very few are straight foward friendships/family surrogates... There'd always be tension...
Dick on the other is more personalable and would get along with most superheros.... And that gets kinda boring...

Not if you use it to, say, get the other character to open up and really see what makes them tick.
