Anyone watched K-On! ? I'm thinking of starting on it. What are your thoughts on the series?

it´s absolutely ADORABLE.!

I´m watching it with my older niece and we´re up to episode 11, I think.
Lovely, lovely story and characters, the cutest I´ve seen in a while.

I have only watched two episodes so far. It's decent, but... no Azumanga Daioh. Not even as good as Lucky Star IMHO. (Then again, it may improve).

My mother loves it, however. No small feat, considering how the only two other anime she likes are Shin-chan (the first edited version, not the Adult Swim one) and InuYasha.

I read a few chapters of the manga. It's pretty funny, although I guess it might be better animated.

Glad to see some further enticement for me to watch it. My bunch of anime watching friends now play only K-ON! music at our band gatherings and they've been trying to get me to watch it too.

You all watch the CoalGuys subs?

 I.... dunno who that is.

I finished watching the series with my niece and...... I seriously hope there´s a season 2!

Talk about leaving us wanting more!...

The series´music is great, the characters are simply adorable (both their designs and personalities) and the situations are fun.

Not Fooly Cooly-fun or Lucky Star-fun but close enough for a few giggles.

Watched the whole thing in my anime club. At first most of the club didn't like it but it eventually grew on us. Very cute. Not as cute as Azumanga Daioh though, IMO.

Fansubbing group. Yes the music is excellent. The main draw of the whole thing in my case. Fuwa Fuwa Time is beautiful on the piano.

Yeah, I read some of the manga as well, and I had a similar impression: It wasn't bad, but it seemed like the sort of thing that'd actually work better as an anime.

It's solid.

I'd rate it 7/10... +1 if you really like moe, -1 if you really dislike moe.

I'd also recommend watching it in several episodes clumps, as the plot feels a lot better/more natural that way, imo (I've heard some people argue that K-On's plot feels quite plodding when you watch it on an episode a week basis).

In my view, episodes 1 through 6 of K-On make up a really good arc, and watching all six in one sitting might be a good idea. Just my opinion.

"Moe"...."Tsundere"... the upside of this series is that I came to learn a whole bunch of expressions.

The downside, of course, is that my niece wants more episodes.

Even though it's intended for a male otaku (there's another word for you if you don't know it already  ) audience, I've always felt that K-On is an anime that would naturally appeal a lot to teenage girls. I don't know the age of your niece, but if she's a teenager, it's good to see that K-On is proving to have that sort of appeal.

She´s 10 and she wants to play an instrument, so the story resonated in her.
It´s fun, lighthearted and the characters are super-cute which definitely helped.

Yeah, I know otaku and a couple other words I picked here and there. :)
