When ever I bring up the idea of him being the villian in the 3rd Nolan Batman film, fans blast me about it. So im curious to know what made the Clock King so unpopular with you fans.

Because honestly, his style of crime is perfect for Nolan's Batman vision.

I love the Clock King, but he's probably not freakish enough to be a large part of the movie series.

Exactly, I don't have anything against Clock King. In fact he's one of my friends favorite Bat villain. He just isn't interesting enough for film.

I don't even know who he is...

I think that he is a Green Arrow villain that just got spots on Batman's tv series and the Suicide Squad. Like Count Vertigo.

The real Clock King did start as a Green Arrow villain. Then he joined the Injustice League and fought the Justice League during the Giffen-DeMatties era. He may or may not have been killed when he got recruited into the Suicide Squad.

Then DC decided to replace him with some loser who fought the Teen Titans once or twice.

As for the animated Clock King appearing in a Nolan movie. Here's what would happen: Batman would corner the Clock King. Clock King would then begin some exposition about how the 5:15 train is always 8 minutes early. Halfway through that speech Batman would break his jaw.

The end.

Who hates him? *looks around*

I think sometimes, 'time altering/traveling' characters are not always done well, but he's not been so bad/distracting.

I honestly don't believe the Clock King has ever faced Batman in the comics before....

really? I thought there was at least one instance I can recall...but I may be talking out of my butt, since I can't think of any specifics, except it maybe involved Catwoman, but maybe that was the animation... hmmm??? *thinks*....

Might it have been in a Johnny DC cartoon tie-in comic?

I love him in episodes of the animated series. I'd love to see this version in comics. Yet I really don't think he's enough of a character to carry a film. In the films you only get a handful made and I don't see him as quintessential enough. Though I wouldn't mind a cameo. I'd love to see a ton of villains in a film, just to show how the landscape has changed from common criminals to 'freaks'.

Wow. Looking up the character's info, I never realized the character was on the old 60s Batman show. Not the same as the animated series version, but the namesake. Plus it was in Teen Titans recently that Temple Fugate was introduced into regular continutiy. Though I didn't check it out.

Yeah I remember he appeared in one issue of Batman Adventures. He was part of the conspiracy that got The Penguin elected and stabbed The Riddler in Bludhaven on former Mayor Hill's doorstep.

I miss the DCAU :frown:

People don't hate the Clock King.

If anything, people LOVE ol' Temple Fugate.

But he's not movie material.

I totally love the Clock king. he was a really great guest villain on the Animated Series. Yes, he would be perfect for a movie choice!!

I hate the Clock King, but he is low on Bat's totem pole of rogues.

They could probably use him as they did Scarecrow in The Dark Knight, but I don't see otherwise. The mastery of timing is certainly an interesting topic, but I'd much rather see the Riddler or something to test Batman's detective skills.

I like him, though.

I like the DCAU Clock King. He was great and I wouldn't mind seeing that version take on comic version Batman. However, as stated before, he's not main movie material, especially when so many other Bat-Villains have yet to reach the Nolan-Universe. I suppose he could be a minor player, but not much more than that.
