I don't read a lot of shojo, but I suspect I should because I do tend to like the ones I do read. >>
The last one I found is called Kimi ni Todoke/Reaching You, about a girl who (initially) has no friends because she is -of all things- kinda spooky. It's one of the most heartwarming manga I've read.

For manga I'd recommend-
Basara [post-apocalypse girl-poses-as-twin-brother-to-save-Japan craziness from VIZ]
Please Save My Earth [also from VIZ, crazy manga about kids who discover past lives as alien scientists on the moon who met a tragic fate]
Clover- Dark Horse's new edition is INSANE. It has enough colour art to fill an artbook, and included all 4 volume in one large book for 20 bucks. They're also issuing Chobits, CardCaptorSakura and Rayearth in this format.
Two Flowers for the Dragon- from CMX/DC Comix, very cute, different artstyle- they've published the artists other works as well. It's about a princess who has to choose between two fiances- and deal with her family's dragon lineage, which causes her to turn into a dragon when she's upset.
For anime on dvd-
-Rose of Versailles [french/japanese languages boxsets from Imavision.com] [the most shojoiest anime of all time]
- Ouran Host Club [haven't seen it, but very popular, boxsets from funimation]
- CLAMP School- ungodly cute, and the boxset bandai just released has a new dub!
- Here is Greenwood- anime from MediaBlasters, manga from VIZ, cute boys school dorm antics as 4 roommates deal with crazy nurse who is the main characters older brother who married main's dream girl, crazy older sisters, crazy ghostly girlfriends, and the dorm's adorable substitute female. MB did it as a 2-disc, complete series set, so it's worth tracking down.
- Magic Knight Rayearth- another CLAMP anime with a really sad ending. Remastered boxsets coming out in January using the newly touched up japanese masters btw :) The dub is very cute in a mid 90's way too.
-They were 11- just went OOP, but probably easy enough to find at it's $10 SRP still, crazy scifi shojo movie about space students stranded on a satellite who discover 1 more test member then they should have is on board. Suspense ensues!
