Dan and Pat are teaming up with a bunch of rappers for an album that looks to be siiiiiick nasty.

It's going to feature people like Mos Def, Q-Tip, a couple of the Wu guys, and others. Color me excited.

They better not Balls this up.

I'd hate to see them go the way of My Morning Jacket. WTF happened there?

I'm in the middle of the album right now. Really digging it. I'm really happy how restrained the the guitars are. No big blues solos that call too much attention to themselves, just a wash of noise behind the vocals.

"If it don't make dollaz, then it don't make sense." Stupid pun made pretty awesome.

I always thought their sound would fit hip-hop very well I can't wait to hear it. The artists they choose are some of my favorites so I'm expecting good things.

I was looking for this at Best Buy yesterday and nobody knew what I was talking about.
Modern Music Retail absolutely sucks. I guess I'll have to order it online.

Independant record stores are the way to go man. You might even get turned on to something new while you're there.

most of the indie/mom and pop shops I know shut down.
Trust me, Modern Music Retail sucks. I'll try J&R music world downtown manhattan, and then see if Other Music is still open.

Not to be a dick or anything but are there really so few indie record shops in New York?

They've definitely been dropping. Only two of the four record stores I used to frequent are still open, one of which has kind of ridiculous prices.

Ah,I see.

My interest was piqued since I live in the most isolated capital city on Earth and I can think of at least four I purchase stuff from on a semi-regular basis.

the ones I know of, yes, there used to be a bunch of used CD/record stores on one block they have disappered and there were a few other little local shops I counted on since the 90s, now they are gone. I used to work at a record store, and I'm a musician so I know the brick and mortar oulets for music retail are becoming scarce.
