For me, the Meg Ryan/Nick Cage movie City Of Angels is a good choice. Never saw the flick, like the soundtrack.

Simialr title, The Crow: City of Angels. Horiible movie, but some good songs on the soundtrack.

First one that springs to mind (although I’m sure there are others) is Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story movie soundtrack. The film is the cheesiest and dullest load of ol' crud I've ever had the misfortune to sit through…Ok, it’s not quite that bad. The film soundtrack, however, is a work of God-like genius.

um. . isn't that because a lot of the songs are directly from the Broadway Musical?

the film was only made to cash in on that (and that they got Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno in the cast).

oh, and I really SHOULD point out that you are in the definate minority in thinking the film is the "dullest load of ol' crud" -- since it won 10 Oscars (including best picture), and is listed by the AFI (American Film Institute) as one of the top 100 films ever made.

yeah. . I'm pulling the info off the two disc special edition we have.

Oh, I know I'm in the minority but I'm just not a fan of musicals in general, in fact, I can't stand them. I like the music to musicals fine, but I have a problem suspending disbelief enough to buy people talking one minute and then bursting into song and pre-arranged choreography, with a whole musical score coming out of the ether, the next.

I know that might seem weird, after all I can suspend disbelief enough to enjoy a comic book about a guy who got bitten by a radioactive spider and gained Spider-like powers...but musicals are just a step too far for me. The one exception being the MGM Wizard Of Oz movie, which I adore. For some reason, I can totally buy the singing in that movie.

As for the movie soundtrack of West Side Story being very similar to the Broadway musical, yes that's true but for me personally, the film soundtrack versions of those songs are the definitive recordings.

The Hunted.

Loved the soundtrack, mainly for KODO. Didn't even know for about 5 years that it actually WAS a movie soundtrack.

Then a few months ago I saw the movie. Ignorance was bliss.

I quite like Hellraiser III.

However, I also enjoy Hellraiser 1,2, 3-8.

So....take that for what it's worth.

I've had The Buena Vista Social Club soundtrack for quite a quite, but tried to watch it recently & got too bored to continue about halfway through.

Also have owned a copy of "The Harder They Come" soundtrack for a while, but have yet to see the movie.

Also have owned a copy of "The Harder They Come" soundtrack for a while, but have yet to see the movie. The movie's good, but nothing spectacular. I can see how it'd be a favourite of anybody who grew up in that time and place, but it was clearly made on a shoestring budget by amateurs.

I've never seen Private Parts, the Howard Stern flick, but I did get the soundtrack as a gift and I enjoyed it.

End of Days had a surprisingly good soundtrack, including a new "Guns N Roses" sound that predated Chinese Democracy by about ten years. But the movie sucked.

Is that "don't like" or "haven't seen"?

If it's the latter you should check out the movie, it's hilarious. Worth watching just for Keith Moon's performance as Uncle Ernie!

Don't like. I've seen the whole thing (and the play), and all I get from it is a gigantic psychedelic spectacle, devoid of any entertainment value and unworthy of any emotive response.

I just can't bring myself to care about anything happening in the movie. Maybe I'm worse off than Tommy. Maybe it's just too surreal for me to relate to.

Dead Man Walking i'm sure i would like the movie (i hope) but i just haven't seen it.
the reason i got the cd was so i could hear who this Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was.

Sadly i haven't gotten any of his own cd's yet.
