Disney owns both Marvel and Crossgen, so legally speaking it could happen. I really wish it would as no company captured my imagination and heart like CrossGen did.

I can't think of a better way to completely kill the concept.

The cocept died in May of 2004. There is no reason why he characters can't live on.

Other than that they're already dead and rotting.
Hey, I liked Scion, but it's over.

Doesn´t mean you can rape their corpses.

Just think about it: Ghost Rider on Route 666!
Better yet, don't think about it...

I don't want to see the CROSSGEN characters in the MU. Period. Not even a tiny hint of a crossover. As with most absorptions into one or the other of the Big Two, the characters from the littler universe would quickly devolve into foils, 2nd rate villains and punching bags for the better established properties.... er... heroes in order to enhnace their existing cache.
These characters deserve a better fate than that.
But, if this means Crossgen can return as its own entity and i can have my lovely NEGATION, ROUTE 666 and THE PATH back, I'll be happy.

No. Do not want to see crossovers.
Besides, the CrossGen stuff are different genres and worlds. What sort of crossover would be possible?
Where would you put THE WAY OF THE RAT. Or EL CAZADOR (two of the titles I'd like to read more of.)
Or Sigil -- great space opera stuff.
No.

With the exception of Tony bedard's negation. Nothing else from Crossgen really got me.

When did Disney buy DC from Warner's ?
Did I miss something?
I meant to say "Crossgen" but for some reason typed "DC." What happened is that in order to aquire the rights to Abazhed Disney bought Crossgen for a million. So the result is that they own all the properties just not the one they were interested in.
A few weeks back they also bought Marvel so there is no reason, legal reason that is, why Marvel can't bring back CrossGen as an imprint series of book or have the characters popping up in their books.

The only property from Crossgen I'd like to see developed further is MERIDIAN.

The space opera stuff would be the easiest, actually - Marvel's got a number of cosmic books it could hang out with, if they wanted.

Yeah. I don't want to see CG integrated into the MU. That would be just a huge mess. Marvel publishing them as a separate entity from the MU? That I could definitely go for.

I think the CODE 6 books were creator-owned.

I think the CODE 6 books were creator-owned.
They were. So I suspect the fate of THE CROSSOVERS lies with the series creator and not the publisher.

Doesn't Greg Land already Photoshop his old Crossgen work into Marvel Comics? It keeps popping up already.

I'd like to see the CRossgen books as a seperate line, NOT in Marvel itself.

It's mostly a pretty anemic lot, I'm afraid. They didn't really start putting out interesting comics until their last year.

I've seen an Edginton express enthusiasm (http://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/tommy78d.html) for what he was getting to do on his CrossGen titles and how he could only do sword-and-sorcery there. (Though mainly he expresses utter fury (http://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/tommy78c.html) over trying to get money out of Alessi and how "I almost lost my house over the whole affair due to the money I was owed". (http://www.2000adreview.co.uk/features/interviews/2006/edginton/ian-edginton.shtml))
I remember either Mark Waid, Chuck Dixon, or both revealing murky stuff and the micromanaging of the comics though. Quoth Edginton on that: (http://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/tommy78b.html)
I mainly dealt with CrossGen's Vice President -- and Mark's cousin -- Gina Villa. A sweet woman who dressed like and actually had spent most of her career as - a girls PE teacher. What she was doing as the VP of a publishing company was beyond me. I soon realised I wasn't the only one who thought this. Most of the creative staff, simply nodded, indulged her instructions and then went right back to doing their jobs in their own, better ways.
Somewhere at the back of my mind, a faint alarm bell started ringing.

I would very much NOT like to see Crossgen characters in Marvel. They worked as their own imprint, until they didn't. But they shouldn't be merged with the Marvel Universe.
And i would rather they make new imprints or carry over ones such as their Soliel line from europe before bringing back Crossgen.

well it would be nice if the actually tied-up all of crossgens existing plot lines that got cut off or remaneined dangling before they consider crossovers.
Also the crossgen char's work better on their own

Eh, don't really care either way. If there's a good character or book to do it with sure, if not no

I doubt Crossgen will ever see the light of day again except as the occasional mining for TPBs but if they were to continue it, I would prefer a seperate universe with maybe a crossover storyline. It had a lot of potential and the last year or so, things started getting interesting. With the right talent, it could be like the Ultimate line with 3-4 books supporting that universe.
