Understandability of Individual Superman Family Titles

Hello everyone,

I have a question about the understandability of each individual Superman title if one does not read all of the titles.

I am interested in reading the Superman: World of New Krypton title, but I have very little interest in reading the Action Comics or Superman titles and I have only a slight interest in reading the Supergirl title. I am willing to buy the other titles in the case of a crossover, like Codename: Patriot (I'm a trade-wait-er, so I'm sure they'll be collected that way anyway).

My question is, if I only buy the issues of the other titles where the crossovers occur, will I be able to understand (a) the Superman: World of New Krypton title and (b) the crossover titles, like Codename: Patriot (would I be able to understand Codename: Patriot or other crossover titles if I never read issues of the Superman title except for the issues that apply to the crossover)?

They generally do a pretty good job of making each story self contained. You might miss a story beat here or there, but it'll get summed up for you.

Read the comics you like, by the creative team you like.
