WONK & SO will be ending in Feb 2010 so the books will be reshuffled again. My predictions are that Rucka & Robinson will be leaving for other DC projects so we will probably see new titles & new writers.

Superman: the return of Superman to Earth written by JMS?
Action: Superman with a Mon-El backup?
Adventure: The Legion by Paul Levitz.
Supergirl: by Gates
Superboy: by ??
New Krypton: starring Nightwing & Flamebird.

When WoNK ends, I'll be more than happy to add a Superman book (featuring Superman though, not Mon-El) to replace it. Action or Superman, I'm really not fussy. Just so long as it's good.

Supposedly there isn't going to be a Superboy book.

I don't see Rucka and Robinson going anywhere, not with the 2009 plotlines leading into a major Superman event in 2010.

Yeah, who said there was going to be Superboy and New Krypton books?

No Superboy book? That's sad.

And I agree, Rucka and Robinson aren't going anywhere.

I'd like it to go back to formula they had when Geoff was doing 'Brainiac'. Superman in Superman, Supergirl in Supergirl and Action as a Superman/Supergirl series for a while. Their interactions haven't been developed at all.

Interesting, because I believe on the first 2 or 3 issues of World of New Krypton, it is printed as X of 15....meaning they had originally planned it to last longer and I believe the Superman "event" won't take place until Origin has at least #5 shipped meaning we will probably see a month or two of either nothing, or one-shots, leading into the event.

I'd do it this way, if I had a choice. No chance in hell it'll happen, but here you go anyway.

Action Comics
Featuring Mon-El and Guardian, and other heroes of Metropolis, such as the Newsboy Legion.

Adventures Comics
Supergirl feature, with a backup story with the LoSH.

Adventures of Superboy
Taking over for the old Adventures of Superman book with good old Conner starring

Superman
Featuring, of course, Superman.

The Daily Planet
Featuring stories of the reporters of the Daily Planet. Lois Lane investigates a murder that is more than it seems, young Perry White exposes government scandals, that sort of thing.

Or as a possibility, leave Adventures as a Superboy book, and have an Adventures of Supergirl book. That would work.

I'd like it if they kept the four they have now:

Action Comics

Superman

Supergirl

Adventure Comics featuring Superboy and the Legion

and add one more, perhaps a 'Superman Family' type book featuring the Kryptonians with a focus primarily on Flamebird and Nightwing and their relationship.

Five titles makes sense and would ensure that fans could get a new Superman book every week of the year.

Even if the continuity between the titles lessens as WONK ends I'd also like it if they kept the 'triangles', reminds me of how the Superman titles were when I was a kid.

I hate books with titles that don't match the character inside them. Why not:

Superman - featuring Superman, duh

Superboy - featuring Superboy

Supergirl - featuring Supergirl

Action Comics - featuring Mon-El

Adventure Comics - featuring Nightwing, Flamebird and new Krypton

And a new Legion of Super-heroes book starring... guess who?

My dream lineup...

Superman: Featuring Superman.

Supergirl: Don't really care about the character that much but as long as the title exists yes, it should feature Supergirl. In a skirt.::wink:

Action Comics: Superman with a back-up feature of some sort. Frequent team-ups though not mandatory for every issue.

Superman Family: The classic old giant-sized title from the '70s, featuring Nightwing and Flamebird, Mon-El, The Guardian, Superboy, the Daily Planet staff, whoever...

Adventure Comics: The Legion for a while, but they eventually spin off into their own book. After that, a nice rotating series of story arcs featuring characters who have trouble carrying their own title but still have good stories in them (I vote the Ryan Choi Atom for starters).

My guess Adventure Comics will become Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes.

After they finish the arc with Lex/Brainiac and a couple standalones, Conner will again ask 'What did Superman do?', answer "Join the Legion of Super-Heroes" and off to the future he'll go...

Didio has already said that Adventure will become a Legion book written by Paul Levitz and that Superboy will be without a book.

Whatever happens, I hope to be able to continue reading about Nightwing & Flamebird and Captain Atom.

Since Adventure Comics is becoming a LoSH book, I will probably bail when Johns leaves with Superboy. Superboy's the only reason I was interested. But I will say that an interesting co-feature could be enough to keep be reading.

I love the current Action Comics, but I know something has to give there when this is all done with. Superman will return as the main feature. I just hope Chris and Thara find a good home somewhere.

Same with Superman, but I don't mind so much there. I like the current ensemble cast there fine, but I'm not going to be heartbroken over their departure. Besides, Guardian at least should be able to continue appearing in his role on the Science Police.

Couldn't care less about Supergirl at the moment. They drained everything interesting out of her.

I don't think they have necessarily ruled out giving Conner his own book:

Newsarama: There's no doubt that when you think of Paul, you think of Legion of Super-Heroes. But there are Conner Kent fans out there that are wondering - what's going to happen to the Superboy piece of this comic?

DiDio: We're going to see Conner's, probably, gradual leave from that book. But that's not to say Conner won't be joining a team book soon, or appearing in another series of his own at some point.

Granted it's somewhat vague but at least it's not a straight out "No".

"At some point" sounds distant to me. On the other hand, the "team book" line makes me think he may be going back to Teen Titans.

Yeah, I agree that it doesn't seem like Conner will get another book anytime soon but at least he didn't rule it out completely. Although it reads like maybe he might stay on in the co-feature for "Adventure", regardless it will be interesting to see if that's a book that sticks with a co-feature, whoever it might be.

But yeah, I would be shocked if Conner isn't added back to the Teen Titans roster soon after Johns is done with him in "Adventure".

I will keep reading Action regardless; I'm in for the countdown to #1000.

But I'm willing to bet that a third Superman/Superman related book will launch sometime in 2010. Either a new Superman title and Superboy will take over Action or a New Krypton related book.

Just curious, do you think there is any interest in a Jimmy Olsen, Superman's Best Friend or a Lois Lane, Superman's Wife book? I just ask because they're both silver age books, and what with the resurgence of the silver...

I have less than no interest in a Jimmy Olsen book. I never could stand the character.

However, a "Lois and Clark" style book sounds like a great idea. I would buy it.

Done properly there's going to be an interest in any Superman supporting character.

With Lois and Jimmy there's a wealth of story possibilities as they're both employed by the Planet, one could imagine either one of them getting into any number of adventures.

I've been enjoying the occasional Superman's Pal: Jimmy Olsen issues that Robinson has done a couple times so far, and I do hope Robinson does a couple more before leaving the Super-books. It's a cool idea doing it like that. But as a monthly ongoing title? I don't think that's something I would follow.

I'm eager to enjoy Connor's adventures in, well, Adventure Comics.

LOSH is a good fit for a back up and, with the addition of the triangle, I think that AC would be a nice addition to Superman, Action and Supergirl in the Superman Family of books.

Seems very likely but that book better go on an upswing in quality.

I suppose given that Adventure Comics is a pretty ambiguous name it can have anyone as a lead but it's history certainly lies with Superboy and the Legion. I just think it would be great to see Superboy in the Legion similar to how Mon-El and Supergirl spent time with them but perhaps that's going to be the case.

You'll have to look at the sales for the last two Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen specials.

Actually in 2010, we will have the big Superman 2010 event.

So the titles I think would be:

2010 Event book (whatever it's called), to replace Superman: World of New Krypton, and then the Superman books.

Afterwards though, here's how I would do it:

Adventures of New Krypton - featuring Nightwing and Flamebird playing Batman and Robin on New Krypton.

Action Comics - Superman Family book - showcase and back-up various Superman characters, (Mon-El, Guardian, Captain Atom, Steel, etc.), but also include Superman.

Supergirl - obviously

Superman - same

Superboy, Adventures of Superboy, or Adventure Comics, or whatever you call it, I hope Superboy has his own title with Krypto.

Legion of Superheroes book - With REBELS backing up, since I don't think that book is doing well right now.

They'll probably hang onto REBELS at least until the JLA crossover.
