In my experience Yu Yu Hakusho is considered to be almost the king of dubs. I agree with that title myself.
After it I'd say Bleach. Rurouni Kenshin and Inuyasha were all amazingly well done dubs. Well Bleach is still going on but you get what I mean.
Your choices?

I consider Dragonball Z to be one of the better dubs, overall. Especially considering Goku had an annoying kid voice in the original.
Other favorites are Black Lagoon, which is one of the few I truly prefer watching in English (part of it is also there's some serious engrish that goes on at points).
Samurai Champloo, which I especially like a few of the lines they slipped in to add to the anachronistic hip hop aesthetic (i.e. when the pawn shop guy says of the palanquin, "Got her rigged up as a low rider, huh?" or Mugen's priceless "Doin' it with a squid!")
Cowboy Bebop is pretty good too, and the Miyazaki dubs tend to be as well.

I think Cowboy Bebop makes a number of people's lists. I think it marked a real turning point for US dubbing. Plus it hit the airwaves and spawned a bunch of fans. I actually first saw it subbed off a friend's VHS, but I love the dub.
FLCL was a pleasent surprise. I didn't think they'd be able to capure the original dub, but damned if they didn't match it to a t.

I know that the Digimon dub messed a few things up...
...But dammit, I'll take those voices over the originals any time of the day.

El-Hazard and the original Tenchi OAVs. There is no contest. At all.
Sure there are other good dubs, but, from what I understand, El-Hazrd is so good the original director considers the english cast to be the canon voices of the characters.

Yu Yu Hakusho would have been a good contender, however, the bizarre second-movie kinda ruined it for me.
Cowboy Bebop (seconded)
Rurouni Kenshin (seconded)
Samurai Champloo (seconded)
Miyazaki films (seconded)
Trigun
Hellsing Ultimate
Excel Saga (Both Japanese and English were good)
Puni Puni Peomi (See above)

Thirded Kenshin, Bebop, Lagoon (Except for those Engrish episodes, it cracks me up!). Hellsing Ultimate seconded, Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie (Okay, maybe not every single voice actor but Bison and Chun Li are great, as is the fact that they use a lot of the same people for the dub of Street Fighter II V.) Lupin III movies (Funimation versions, because having Krillin, Usopp, and Maes leading a team of Piccolo, Vegeta, Armstrong, and Android 18 is hilarious and made of win. Plus the voices really do fit the characters.)

The Ocean Group dub of Dragonball Z. They may not have been to the same as the original, and the script was corny, but they could ACT; they gave life to the characters, even if it was full of ham, instead of just reading off a page.
The dub of FLCL; they had to find equivalent jokes and references and act it out rapidly, and they did a hell of a job

Yeah. Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the best. That show is so terribly underrated.

G Gundam was the only good Gundam series.
The dub was perfect in its cheese fit perfectly the cheese inherent in the show.

Well I'm biased I'll admit. Gundam isn't really my kind of anime to begin with. I only watched G Gundam on a friend's recommendation and from what I've seen of other Gundam series, they're very different. G Gundam is like DBZ with robots and I enjoyed that but things are way different in the other Gundam shows.

The Original dub of Akira.
It was just more fun with better dialog. I don't remember if the lip synching was better or not, but I know I miss the feeling of whimsy when I watch the newer translation.

Regarding Gundam dubs, I found ZRO's dub of Gundam 0083 fantastic.
Funny thing is, pretty much all the 0083 voices are also in manga's dub of Castle of Cagliostro, and Kirk Thornton (Gato) and Richard Barnes (Delaz) are the count and his chief butler/henchman Jodo. It's interesting to see the roles reversed.
Regarding G Gundam vs. the other shows, I think the reason it was created was two-fold, to make Gundam more merchandise-friendly and also to revitalize the franchise after the failures of F91 and V Gundam, which attempted to do "Gundam:The Next Generation" and partially suceeded but were unfortunately not huge sucesses (Although V does have it's fans)....G sort of had a paradigm shift to the whole franchise, most of the TV series and OAVs since then have had more than five Gundam-type mobile suits (Seed has like, ten in the first series alone!) and with the exception of a few, have been set in alternate universes. Also, most of the Gundam series/movies beforehand had been under the guiding hand of Yoshuyuki Tomino and were set in the same timeline...
G & Turn A are also the most original of the alternate shows, Wing, Seed and X tended to recycle a lot from the UC timeline.

To each his own.
The dub was just horrible, even for it's cheesy premise.

Nah, for G Gundam it was perfect. The whole point of the show was to be as hammy and over the top as possible.
