A good chunk of mecha has a humanoid shape-upright, with arms and legs, a seperate head and one or two eyes etc. However, what about mecha that doesn't fit the mold of the usual stereotype?
Offhand, there's Gundam's mobile armors. I suppose ships can count too, since they are sort of mecha in their own sense (Unless of course they transform into a humanoid shape ala SDF-1).
