I really liked Hickman's first issue, but he just completely won me over with this page. Franklin's Birthday Party is sure to be fun

Smartest guy on the planet, and he's wondering "what's going on" during his kids birthday.

And I hope Spider-Man DOES show up to Franklin's birthday.

Wow....that Galactus had 2 Surfer Heralds. Things look a little shaky on the domestic front. Reed's gonna be in the dog house in the Negative Zone when Sue finds out he didn't tear down the Bridge.

Plus, Reed is snapping back at Sue in a way that's a BIT uncharacteristically sharper than normal.

I guess beating Galactus and hitting the weights at the gym upped his confidence level a bit. Cause I'd almost rather face a Galactus with 2 heralds than an angry Sue Richards.

Yeah, things might get ugly between them. It wouldn't surprise me if Sue still has doubts about Reed's activities after CW.

I'd like to see that birthday party for Franklin. I haven't seen the Power Pack kids in a while and haven't they been shown to be older? Like to see if they mention Franklin's age at this party. Marvel always seems to avoid letting Franklin hit the plateau of 10 years old.

Though I'm sure they'll work things out, I'm actually glad that we're seeing some CW issues brought up again.

I thought they were swept under the rug and forgotten about a BIT too quickly more my tastes. Maybe this run should have taken place right after CW.

As for Franklin and his age... they should never go there. He's one of those things which people can use to measure the passage of time. And with Marvels sliding time scale that'll only make continuity problems down the line. They need to be as vague as possible.

Julie's been shown to be in her late teens in The Loners.

Well, that will really raise some questions, but then I was never sure of the ages of all the Powers kids. I assume that could be because if Julie was the oldest, she could be in her teens and there could be some age gaps between siblings.

BTW, it would be funny if Kristoff crashed the party.

Kristoff should show up somewhere.

Him and Cassie seemed pretty tight back in the day... it would be nice if he showed up in some sort of Young Avengers story.

You know at first, I thought he might be the young Kang. They are related through Nathaniel. Hey, I wonder if Franklin's only living grandparent is invited. Hickman should bring him back since he was in that flashback.

As for Cassie and Kristoff they were re-united in DeFalco's Spider-Girl alternate future. IIRC, she's called Stinger in the A-Next and they found each other again in that future.

No cake yet, they're just making plans and Franklin wants to invite Spidey, which gets Johnny all ticked off. I posted the link on the FF board too.

I really enjoyed that preview. Especially for Uncle Suckface and Hulk Smash cereal.

Jacked-up Reed reminds me of any random protagonist from a bad 1950's sci-fi movie. Ya know, the old dude with the swept back hair and half-unbuttoned shirt? That guy. It fits the story, I suppose.

That Hulk cereal makes me think someone is really screweing Banner out of royalites somewhere.

The buffed up sleeveless unshaven Reed certainly gives off a different vibe. And it kind of shows with the level of spine he's showing to Sue. Not sure I like him more or less because of it though.

It would be interesting, and nice of, Franklin if he invites the Wizards kid to his party.

I'm curious... did anything recently happen between Spidey and Uncle Suckface? Is there a reason he's saying Spidey sucks, or is that him just being his usual charming self.

I know Torch and Spidey tend to rag on each other at times, but he does seem a bit more mean spirited than usual. But maybe I'm just reading more into that than there should be.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Usually, they just prank each other. They always used to meet at the Statue of Liberty and confide in each other about their problems.

It would be interesting, and nice of, Franklin if he invites the Wizards kid to his party.

I had a feeling we could be seeing more of him too. Would be a nice touch to see him there.

LOL... there was a whole flock of them... Richard Denning chasing the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Richard Carlson, John Agar, or Gene Barry in War of the Worlds movie. Man, they all tend to blur in your memories.

Wait... Reed helps kill a Galactus? What happened to Reed "Not only won't I kill Galactus but I'll help save his life and stand intergalactic trial for it" "Richards? What happened to Galactus being an essential part of the cosmic ecology of each universe, such that any universe without him will eventually stagnate, decay, and die?

That was his universe. Who cares about the other ones. He must don't.

I hope Sue smacks him with an ivisible force field. I always find Reed to be one of Marvel's biggest Dicks.

Katie was always a bit older, and Jack just a little older than her, so I could see them being about 12-14 years old now, if Julie's about 17-18.

This is what marriages are like. One bitches about something about the spouse, and the other bites back. We don't get to see the dirty fights between Reed and Sue, because Marvel tries to portray them as the first family and their private life is untouchable. This preview sounds normal.

Besides, Reed has been smacked around by Sue about CW so much it's about time he grew some. I see Reed, wanting to fix everything, being about Reed having the balls to stand up for himself because he feels he's right. Showing Reed rebuffing Sue will make her sit up and listen, now, because she doesn't have a wimpish husband being nagged, now. Will make for more energetic conversations between the two.

Finally got to access the previews.. whew.. I was jonesing like an addict

I don't think Reed's going to fall in with the council. Not just because it would change the book into The Council guest starring the other Fantastic Three, but those opening pages make it look like Reed is more swept up in the whole notion that he.. across the multiverse, has gained such a lofty position. But in the end I'm looking for him to realize that playing God is not the way to solve everything.. just a way to make all the problems yours entirely.

That Spidey is keeping his identity a secret? I know Johnny kept after him about it because he remembers that he did know it but he doesn't anymore. How many people besides the FF know about that anyway?
That's the one thing about CW and BND that confuses the heck out of me.

Spidey and Johnny teamed-up in ASM #600 recently to stop Doc Ock and rescue some girls(one of which ended up being Johnny's date to Aunt May's wedding). They teased each other a lot, but they still seemed to be on good terms.

Kinda wondering if he actually hit the gym and pumped a lot of iron or if he's just "blowing up" his elastic muscles for show lol.

I seem to recall there was a post-BND Spidey/FF mini that establishes that the FF do know his identity.

That's the thing... because they do tease each other a lot, it's hard to tell if Johnny is messing around or not. But there seemed to be a bad vibe about his statement... I'm not sure why. Maybe it didn't quite seem as jokey because of Franklin's reaction.

Seems to me that Johnny is just a bit jealous that his own flesh and blood would prefer to have the Webslinger at his birthday party.

Once again they go through the birthday stage of Franklin Richards, and once again I'm betting we'll never know his real age because that would make the main characters old.

And we can't have that in Joe Q's Marvel Universe, now can we.

Oh. I thought Johhny was still roiled about Spidey's unwillingness to revealing his secret identity to the FF. Oh well. I guess it is jealously then.
