Any particular reason that the preview includes a Batman ad?

*Fudge, I thought you were talking about the sidebar.
Fixed!

I actually got a little bit excited there for a second.
Barry Allen showed up in the marvel universe when he died (sort of). Batman showing up in Nova would have been cool.

So the new Corps are getting the old Kid Nova costumes? I just find it funny, because it's like... Probies don't get sleeves.

I can't really remember but the Corps had different levels like any police force and the color and stars repersents that.

Now I get a chance to do more than glance... it's better than Sharpe's last issue, but there's still a definite hint of Stay-Puft about his figures. The way he's drawing Nova-Prime's helmet isn't helping - it's meant to be bell-shaped (tight to the head at the top, flaring a bit only as it reaches the shoulders. Granov's cover to Nova #1 is one of the best examples, and his Ko-Rel cover to Nova #5 makes a good comparison between the Prime and Centurion designs), but he's drawing it as short as a Centurion helmet, and almost like a rounded cone (flared linearly all the way down its' length) and the result gives the illusion that Rich's neck is bizarrely wide.
I can't really remember but the Corps had different levels like any police force and the color and stars repersents that.
Two chest stars is meant to be Denarian (the level below Centurion), although they're still wearing Centurion (six-pointed star) helmets (Denarian helmets have a four-pointed star, with no diagonal points)
All the standard uniforms are blue/black, however. The only prior reddish costume was Rich's "Kid Nova" look (flashed back to in #22) from early New Warriors.

So... why is Ego wearing lipstick?
And wasn't he sporting a space beard last issue? Kinda weird that they stopped investigating the Nova Prime ship long enough to give him a shave between issues...

So... why is Ego wearing lipstick? That struck me as a little odd, too. I get what Sharpe was trying to do, giving Ego a semblance of Ko-Rel's face, and I'm sure it works in terms of Ego's powerset (he can reshape his surface however he wants), but it makes for an awkward visual.

Still, I like the choice. It sets them apart from Rich visually, but they're still identifiably Novas.

Lol...guys...Ego's always been malleable... It's not a giant leap to think that since Ko-Rel's mind took the place of the world mind, which took over ego, that Ko-Rel's face could then take the place of Ego's....

LOL, at least Ego isn't sporting lipstick AND a beard!

I thought that was strange as well.
Weren't the Nova Corp leaving Ego?

I'm back from Alaska - great cruise!
That being said, I could not wait to check the art previews for issue #29. I thought it might be better than the artists last stint because I believed he had more time. I have to say - I don't like it. I'm hoping for a new fill in artist in the future.
Also, the Denarian outfits, I was wondering if this was going to happen. I thought it might happen to Tre and Lindy, I wasn't sure if it would happen to the original new corpsmen. Now I'm wondering if Tre and Lindy will be a rank below Morrow, Fraktur, and the others. Will they be wearing the outfits with the "boomerangs" on them?
I also do not like seeing Rich being "felled" by flying metallic birds. I know writers try to convey what is happening, but I think Rick his at the point that if lesser powered beings strike him, he should say, "hmmm, what just tapped me?"
Lastly, even though I don't like the art, I trust DnA to tell a good story. I like seeing the formation of the Nova Corps and how it operates.

I loathe those kid nova costumes- why demote the corps members like that?
Seriously, it's kinda humiliating.
I'm waiting to see the return of Supernova and that Sh'iar Nova Prime guy (forget his name).

They were not demoted - they are in training. And they are happy Rich did not take their powers and send them home, which he had done with the others.
DnA are rebuilding the Corps from the bottom up and showing how it is done. And Rich is trying to honor the Corps as he remembers how it was done. Besides, he has seen the Corps destroyed too many times. He wants to make sure they are all trained up and ready for action.
Lastly, Rich remembers the pain of not knowing how to fight as a recruit with no training. Rich got beat up by almost every low rent villain on Earth. He could not project any powers at all. He wants to make sure this does not happen to any one else.
