Hey, I wrote a Wonder Woman column, called WONDER OF WONDERS!

Fun stuff, but wait'll you read what the rotating columnists come up with. I seriously think these are the three best WW commentators on the net.
Can't wait for you to read them!

And it was a good one too!

Looking forward to it.
To be honest, until recent years, the last time I read Wonder Woman regularly was waaaay back during the O'Neil powerless Diana stories. I thought they were pretty neat. But then I was a kid, what did I know. ;)
I don't think there's another character in comics that has been reinvented as much as Wonder Woman. There is certainly plenty of material there for many kinds of commentary.
I have a friend who is now a comic book professional, and she just doesn't see any appeal at all in the character. I'm going to point her this direction and see if maybe she can be won over. :)

Wow, Gail. So much to take in, but so much GREAT stuff to see. Diana's finally getting her comeuppance.
I think that people need to understand that the message board belongs to the Wonder Woman community, not just one person. You have been the catalyst, but you're perfectly willing to let it thrive on its own. I think some people don't realize that all it takes is one individual who loves Diana to make things happen.
Thank you for inspiring so many. Yes, I'm a fan, so I'm a wee bit biased. But, so what; I'm proud of that. And to those who might feel your motives are selfish: check out the board to see so many HUGE names in Wonder Woman comics come together, people who have left their legacy on this archetypal character. From Nicola Scott to Kurt Busiek to Phil Jimenez, we are seeing the talent of the comics world come out to celebrate our Amazon.
Long live Wonder Woman! Long live the Amazon Princess!

Excellent first column, Gail, and thanks for the Wonder Woman Day (http://www.wonderwomanmuseum.com/WWDay4/WWDay4.html) PR!
And that PR really worked, Andy, 'cause I just e-mailed you!

Right, that is absolutely the point of the whole thing, Aegis.
The columns are not going to be by me or about me (one of the first is a review of a book I write, most of the other columns are other topics entirely). I never wanted it to focus on me at all.
The whole idea is to have a Wonder Woman board for Wonder fans of all kinds, including from other media and non-comics readers, AND for those who are merely curious, or interested in the bits of comics history that we've been covering.
I just wanted to get the ball rolling, is all!

Aw, go on...
;)
I don't know how much good it'll do, 'cause I do all my art digitally. Andy can maybe sell prints, or t-shirts of the cowgirl Diana?

Hi, I just wanted to mention that your column made me visit the board just now. Though I am active on the CBR boards (especially the DC boards and the Writer & Artists board), I did not actually plan to visit the WW board at all.
Diana's not my favorite character, but among my Top 5 of all superheroes. So, why did I not plan to visit this board? Time. I'm active not only on the CBR boards, but on five other message boards. Add to that the time it takes for my other online activities (e-mails, news sites, etc.) and a lot of my free time is used up. So I am forced to select. Also, I haven't read a WW comic (or that many new comics) since the Infinite Crisis (due to financial problems, not because I disliked anything), so I was not sure what I could contribute to a WW board.
And then I read your column. I had no idea Wonder Woman was such a biggie outside of the comics community. Maybe that's because here in Germany, superheroes as a whole are not that particularly popular outside of the comics community.
So, the whole part about how WW and other superheroes inspired people outside the comics fanbase was very interesting. It really hooked me. And the idea of the board being for all WW fans (not just the comics readers) took my reservations away.
And you know, I've been on this board for something like an hour or so, and I've already become active.
So, thanks Gail! For a pretty sweet and interesting column, but also for making me visit this board.

I just read Bobby's first installment of the column. "Incredible" and "thought-provoking" don't even begin to cover it. I can't believe we're getting content like this for free. Simply amazing. I feel like I should be paying to read it, because there is obviously so much thought, care, and skill going into the writing of it.
Thank you, Bobby, for sharing this with us!

Kevenn, thank you so much for such high praise. I'm ridiculously honored by this.
But you wait. Carol and Mars are going to take it to the next level. Those two are BRILLIANT. I count myself as fortunate to even be included in the same sentence--much less the same column--with the two of them.

You are too modest, Bobby. It was a really, really good article, and I thank you for it from the bottom of my heart.
