Last year several members who were of an artistic ilk did a few drawings of their favourite characters to show their appreaction of Annihilation. So I think its time that we do the same for Conquest. So I'll start the ball rolling by showing you my latest computer-painted portrait of Nova. It was originally going to be a straight forward version but since I happen to like Nova 7's cover I though what the hell...Hope you like it. Darren/Nova3333.

But seeing as I *really* want to draw Wraith and Quasar/Phyla (I just *love* their designs) -maybe Nova, finally-, I'll see if I can make time for it.

I'm planning to do other chracters in the Conquest line-up. I tend to draw mainly male chratcers as they're easier BUT I might mkae a few exceptions and Phyla-vell is one. Wraith and Starlord are also on the list and a definate pairing is Nova and Ko; 2 Nova's for the price on one. But no Rocket Racoon requests. Please!

That's absolutely right. There was an fan art thread done last year during Annihilation which I slightly contributed to so it seemed right to start one for Conquest. Thanks for the kind comments Darkhold, greatly appreciated! So who else is gonna join in. Perhaps I'd better PM Ronnie Thumberbolt; He did practicaly all the cast last time around!

I think the 'Annihilation' forum was simply renamed to 'Annihilation Conquest', so alot of the old stuff from there is still here.

Amazing art as always Darkholde! Love the use of black space in the Quasar piece (it reminds me of Kirdy dots) and the Quasar/Moondragon piece is just beautiful (surprizingly, they haven't kissed yet on panel in the comics).

Those are two excellent pieces of mono art in pan and ink. Love the subtle shading and yeah I love kirby dots. Now perhaps if you can send me two resonaable sized jpeg files on each image I can, time permitting, do them in full colour?? And I love to see a Nova or Peter Quill.

Nova, what size would you need the pics in?

When I do my artwork I draw at standard A4 at 600dpi maximum, Tiff format which is then coverted to jpeg, re-sized down to 120dpi to adnere to standard upload for photobucket. As I'm doing colouring you can get away with 300 DPI at A4. As your images are black and white save them in grayscale if possible. I use Corel (KO-rel!) Photoshop for colouring though at work, as I'm a printer by trade I use PhotoShop.

I do have images of Deathcry from her Avengers days but D got there first; might be an idea to wait to when Starlord 1 comes out for the current look but I can forward you a scan of the original if that's okay. My e.mail is novadaz3333@yahoo.co.uk c/o Darren.

I will definitely be doing up a version of Phyla in her Quasar duds soon, and I'm in the process of drawing both Deathcry and Mantis for a commission in their classic looks, but I'll likely do some Conquest: Star Lord variations on the two as well. Good Point. As it is I coloured this in about 25 minutes tops so from my perspective its a rush-job; I usually take 2 days (roughly 4/5 hours pending on free time). As is I'm spending my free time writing more than drawing at present (see my Nova Fan Ric request thread; not that the story there is the one I'm doing...).

Hello. I'm a regular contributor to the Annihilation Conquest thread but I'm also dabble (time permitting) with both art and writing specifically regarding Marvel's cosmic scene and a certain character who's in my screen name. Last year I contributed to Rocket Boosters a 30th Fanzine celebrating Nova's birthday and it was the first time I had my work in print. I came across this art of CBR by accident; Didn't know there was a forum for artists and writers specifically. If I have time I'll have a good look. Anyway if you want to see more cosmic art I have a semi-regular thread in the Annihilation Conquest thread. I'm also presently having a crack doing a online Nova serial which I hope to have done sometime before the end of the year that is as/when my fellow Novaphiles decide which way I should go! Darren

Excellent stuff Ronnie you never cease to amaze me with your art. I noticed on your page you have done Gilgamesh have you done a version of him in the space armor? I always thought Kirby's rendition of that was one of the more interesting looks.

Crazy world, I'm actually the owner of Phyla-Vell. I won her on ebay and then commissioned raynir to make me some Annihilation & Conquest customs.

He's working on his hands as we speak.

Hi. Myself and a fellow Nova fan have been working on a series of inter-connecting fan fiction stories set in an alternative universe (yeah another one!!). We opted for a more gritty Marvel ICON approach as we're fans of Science-Fiction and realism and wanted to do something a bit different. Essentially most of what happened in the 616 is the same except the Annihilation War lasted 2 years (instead of 224 plus days) and Conquest never happened. Stories are set in both Rich's past, present and possible future and we're trying to add a lot of additional background history to Nova using our love for the series as a basis, plus new original characters to boot. Xemnu is looking really good. I love all the detail of the hair and in particular I like the cracking on the armour. Shame he seems to have lost his torso joint, but I think he looks great with the extra height. I've never been a fan of Xemnu, even when he was in Annihilation, but full praises to you for trying to collect every facet of the crossover.

I can only imagine the patience needed to sculpt all those layers of hair. Can't wait to see him draw out the details with a deep wash and dry brushing.

For about a year now (well 14 months) I've been churning away at my Nova Novella....its been a slow job as I've had to fit it around my 2 day jobs but its getting there! My Co-writer, a fellow Nova fan (we've both fans of the character for over 30 years) has also done a few synopsis for his own stories too at our NTNA Yahoo Group. But I often have this idea that maybe all of our creative work could be adapted further. Lets face it, events have happened in the 616 that, for want of a better word, we've really "hated" (obvious examples come to mind
which we need not re-address). Now with fan-fiction there's the chance to say: well instead of that happening what if instead it happened that way instead.

So what I'd like to do for 2009 is offer an opportunity to create a Marvel Cosmicverse/fan universe where we, the fans, dictate the terms and the stories, well as writing them, for those that want to have a go doing something creative. Now in part the Nova stories I and Bill have done are: a) more science-fiction based because we love that stuff and b) we decided to also try and be more "realistic" in our approach, especially with characters, etc. For example, my Richard Rider is a 26 year old veteran of the 2 year long Annihilation war, a
bit more mature in his approach that 616 Richard, a lot more resorceful and more in keeping to the Keith Giffen version than the DNA classic/re-boot we all enjoy in Nova every month. We've built up a rough 50 year arc of evenes in our "little universe" but to me there's always opportunity for other stories, with other characters, to be featured down the line, stories which allow you to
write/suggest plots/etc that wouldn't necessarily appear in a mainstream Marvel comic. Here, continuity hasn't fully been set, some things are parallel to the 616 but al lot of stuff is open to reinterpretation, the sky is the limit when it comes to imagination.

So if anyone here would like to consider participating in this, its all for fun, no profit, just simple fun and collective collaboration to share interest in Marvel Cosmic in a more real and maybe darker side than show in the 616 e.mail me at novadaz3333@yahoo.co.uk.
