Gee gosh golly darn! I am gonna post my strategy here anyways if that is alright. I wrote it up, so might as well use it. If anyone cares to read through it, please let me know what works and what doesn't. Not sure I would employ the same strategy against anyone else anyways. Thor demolishes Hulk......by forfeit.

INVADEROUS BASTICHES

Operation:Gang Green

Captain America, Spider-Woman, Dark Wolverine and Thor are teleported to the Hydrobase. The Invaderous Bastiches have arrived!
Daken: "Fresh meat and the old man. God, what a wonderful day for a picnic. Now, let's get this party started."

ATTACK ONE:
The team immediately goes on assault. The Bastiches simulatenously take action. Initiate fighting sequence now....

A. Thor flies/rushes at an accelerated speed (with his mighty hammer, Thor can move at speeds unable to be calculated, literally become invisible he moves so fast, see Journey Into Mystery #94 ) at his unassuming target Justice and Knocks the poor boy Out with his Asgardian strength, a one punch blow Tyson style should suffice. This happens rapidly and takes out a a key weapon of the opponent, Vance Astrovik's psionic powers. Thor has Mjolnir's provide a protective barrier for any instananeous attack that would disrupt him. He makes quick work of Vance who is not his physical rival.

B. Captain America will directly focus on Wolverine. Bucky Barnes is an expert marksman as is apparent from his Wartime escapades and his post-war collection of tee shirts that say World's #1 Assassin, I Shot Hitler, I Set the Cold War on Fire, etc etc. He takes aim at Logan with his modified handgun, fully aware of Logan's healing factor and knowing he can not actually kill his friend no matter how many times he shoots him. Cap busts some caps into Wolvie...repeatedly and lights him up, shredding him with gunfire and physically ripping him to shreds. This will hold Wolvie at bay for a while. Cap can also assist by shouting orders to his fellow Bastiches from this position and stay protected with Cap's Shield. Daken chuckles as his father gets pummelled by gunfire and it raises his enthusiasm for combat.

Daken: "You know what to do if Dog-breath gives you any problems Bucko. Just the same as bloody well you did me!"

Captain America reaches into his belt and holds tightly in his fist one carbonadium bullet that he knows would do the trick if it comes to that.

C. Dark Wolverine starts releasing his pheromone powers as he races to meet the Hulk head on. Though it is not the most intelligent of moves for Daken, he is a fearless sociopathic warrior and welcomes the opportunity to take a shot at the immovable green object. His pheromones have a unique ability (almost empath like) to impact emotional state as we've seen in his Dark Avengers short history. This affect will try to soothe and calm the raging Hulk from gaining his full force during their fight and also shoot some pheromonic charm out at Firestar's young heart and mind to spike her emotional state when she sees Vance get taken out and rattle her. Daken's team does not know the full extent of his pheromone control or how he manipulates opponents, so he does this on his own. For the reason of giving him a better shot at Hulk and also to really stick the emotional dagger in Firestar who he gets wicked kicks out of seeing young relatively happy women hurt emotionally. He's a real bastard. The reason Daken is assigned to Hulk is two-fold. Daken is a supreme fighter who can at least temporarily go toe to toe with the best of them, his goal here is to slow down Hulk, not outright stop him. Hulk is way to strong. But Hulk has shown weakness to admantium, which can pierce his skin as in Wolrd War Hulk when he was even at his raging strongest. Daken's claws should at least cause some damage to the big Green Machine and most importantly, Daken can take a beating and he actually rather likes the pain. His healing factor, much like his father's will allow him to spar with the Hulkster and even if he gets walloped, he will be able to deal and heal. This should provide his teammates enough time to get their initial objectives completed before they focus on helping out Daken.

D. Spider-Woman will use her super human speed, agility, reflexes and elusiveness to dodge any direct attacks from Firestar, her main target. She'll use her powers of flight to pursue and engage and shoot venom blasts at Firestar. Again, this would be great to take out an opponent this way, but it mostly is a stalling tactic until Thor disposes of Justice. Justice's falling along with Daken's emotional manipulation should cause a real problem for not fully emotionally mature Firestar.

objectives: take out Justice, hurt Wolverine, stall Firestar and Hulk.

ATTACK TWO:
The Bastiches now move in to thin the herd.

A. Thor having taken out Justice now immediately goes after the next target and assists Jessica Drew with Firestar. He quickly flies into direct confrontation with Firestar, whose microwave powers he can resist. Thor has withstood direct hits from Firelord, a Cosmic Flare, and it had no visible effect (Thor #306) as he did against Ghost Rider's flame (Avengers #214). When he gets to her he uses Mjolnir to actually put Firestar to sleep (this power was used in Thor #372) and carries her body to the beach, out of harms way. He should be able to do this rather quickly. This is a bang bang offensive, and even quite literally in Bucky's case.

B. Captain America continues his assault on Wolverine with his arsenal, resisting to pull out his trump card (carbonadium bullet) until he sees it is a must. Daken still stabbing at Hulk and likely taking a good beating. Jessica Drew then comes in to assist Bucky with Logan who should be well shot to h&ll by now. Jessica begins to venom blast Logan at will, numbing him even further while Thor puts Firestar away safely and returns to combat.

objectives: take out Firestar peacefully, continue assault on Wolverine and stalling tactic on Hulk.
fallback plan: Shoot Logan with a carbonadium bullet

ATTACK THREE:
Out to Sea

A. Thor returns quickly and takes on Wolverine, who has been badly damaged by an all out assault from Bucky and with recent assist from Jessica Drew. Thor physically confronts what is left of him and picks up Wolverine, flies him out over the ocean, dropping him well away from the combat zone. In the water Logan will have time to heal and repair himself on his slow swim back to the Hydrobase but be a non-factor for his side. Thor, Bucky and Jessica are relieved that did not need to use further damaging force that might have permanent consequences on Logan, a fellow Avenger. Though Daken would be rather letdown that a carbonadium bullet didn't get lodged in his old man's brain for old time's sake. However, Daken is probably getting mauled well and good by now, so his focus is on taking his beating and getting one more good scratch on the big green behemoth and stalling him as long as he can.

Daken: "Is that all you got, freak? Did anyone ever tell you that Green looks terrible on you? What happened to the rest of your pants, seriously?"

B. As Thor dispenses of Logan, Jessica and Bucky fall in at a safe distance to take shots at Hulk and keep him from pummeling Daken completely. Just enough to give Thor time to rush out far enough over the water and return. Thor quickly launches Wolvie into the pool and returns to the battlefield. Now the numbers have been thinned and the true Rumble shall begin.

objectives: take out Wolverine, send in backup to assist with Hulk

ATTACK FOUR:
Main Event

A. The Invaderous Bastiches versus The Incredible Hulk. Daken's mission is pretty well complete at this point. He will crawl off and heal while the direct attack shall be formed from Thor, Spider-Woman and Captain America. Hulk is the only opponent left. Of course, what everyone really wants to see is Ali-Frazier, Tyson-Holyfield, Balboa-Creed....Thor versus Hulk. Of course, the remaining Bastiches will help out to better their odds.

a1. Jessica is going full pheromone effect here. Though Hulk has shown resistance to psychic control, that is not how Jessica's powers work. Her's are primal in nature, just as the Hulk is himself. Her secretions should stimulate an attraction in Hulk who has a history of looking out for women and has primitive attractions towards them at his core. This attraction should soothe and help calm Hulk towards Jessica and by association her teammates.

Jessica Drew: "We don't want to hurt you big guy. Banner, are you in there somewhere? It will be alright. We just want to help you."

a2. Bucky Barnes has his shield ready to protect Jessica and himself from any flying debris hurled their way. His rifle is loaded with tranquilizers strong enough to down elephants, but only strong enough to pause the Hulk. He will use them if they are charged to buy them a few extra seconds to escape harm's way. To slow down the adrenaline is the key to slowing down the Hulk. Jessica's soothing pheromones and Bucky's tranqs will be used if necessary to do so.

a3. Thor is on hand to use his protective barrier if need be. Thor's Barrier (through Mjolnir) are similar to Sue Storm's in forming a force field (see Thor #181/395).

B. Thor is tempted to challenge the Hulk hand to hand, as is a Warrior's Way and the nature of Asgard. However, with his teammates safety in jeopardy as well as Firestar and Justice still on the Hydrobase but out of commission, should he fail more lives would be at stake. Thor has something the hulk does not, Mjolnir! He reinforces his shield and tells Bucky to clear the area. Bucky detaches his bionic arm and sends it to open the hospital and housing facilities and get it set for lockdown. He and Jessica then run to pick up Firestar and Justice under the protection of Thor's barrier. They scramble with the downed combatants into the relative safety of the housing and hospital units.

Captain America: What about Daken?

Thor: Leave him be. For his nature to survive is his test.

Daken: <moaning> Gee thanks guys...your sentiment is really tearing me to pieces here.

C. Bucky and Jessica are sealed in with Firestar and Justice. Bucky arranges for an evacuation plan if necessary by way of the nearby Jumbo Jet. He also instructs Jessica that should he need to use it as a weapon against the Hulk, he shall do so.

D. As the others are fortified in, Thor begins to do battle with Hulk.

Why Thor will defeat Hulk:
-Thor is the best warrior in all of Asgard, sensing opponent's weaknesses. He may not be as strong as Hulk, though that could be debatable, but he has a combat mentality that surpasses the Green One. He is strong enough to lift the entire Hydrobase (Avengers #301) if he needs to
-MJOLNIR!!! His hammer shakes and even crushes mountains and planetoids (Thor #400) He usually holds back, but against the Hulk, he would choose to use the powers he has. (He ended Block-Buster in Thor #374) Mjolnir has powers of anti-gravity to launch Hulk into space, magnetism from early days like Journey Into Mystery #102 where he could hurl metallic structures on the HydroBase at Hulk, solar flares that are twice the temp of the sun to burn the Hulkster, weather control to stir up tidal waves to crush Hulk, thunderstorms and lightning to strike him or the spear of wind to fight Hulk with that elemental force, like a tornado. He can perform planet shaking Thermoblasts, he would tone down of course. He can use the God Force which is powerful enough to take down Galactus (Thor #161)...But for this....and the safety of the others...Thor will use his strength and the strength of Mjolnir to physically defeat the Hulk on the Hydrobase. Should it appear dire...he will use his Spacial Powers to send the Hulk to the confines of the gamma base where he can be imprisoned and helped. Mjolnir has power to send anyone to anywhere in the marvel universe, across dimenions even, though the Gamma Base would be ideal for this. Again, priority one is defeat him hand to hand. Priority two is use Mjolnirs powers to do so, without demolishing Hydrobase, followed by priority three to send Hulk via his spacial powers to the Gamma Base. for confinement.

objectives: take out Hulk, secure safety of Hydrobase and other combatants.

EPILOGUE
With the Hulk defeated and downed, Bucky opens the Housing Unit doors. Jessica follows him out.

Captain America: "Good work Thor. This place is still standing and the Hulk is down, at least for now."

Daken slithers towards the fallen Hulk. As Captain America and Spider-Woman congratulate Thor.

Daken's claws are unsheathed and he sneaks up on the down and out Hulk readying a sharp blow to his liver area when Cap, re-armed...literally, launches his shield into Daken's stomach, dropping him back to the ground in agony. Thor moves in and stands over the fallen Hulk protecting him from Daken taking another shot.

Daken: What's wrong with you? We could finish this. We could finally rid the world of the Hulk once and for all! God knows how many times you messed it up before. I mean, we are trying to be heroes right? In the end, the good guys are supposed to stop the bad, end the terror. Right now, it's right in our hands. We can stop it for good....They say I am crazy, but look at you guys! We could end all the destruction....forever. Get out of my way."

Thor points his hammer down towards Daken's head.

Thor: You will leave this man be.

Daken quickly retracts.
Daken: "Man?...a man?...Yeah right. You fools...there is no man here, only a monster that you enable. But whatever you say Viking Bob, he's all yours....just leave me out of it the next time you need a human sacrifice in a job you don't plan to finish."

Captain America: Enough Daken. Stand down. This battle is over. We have won. Now, we need to get you to the infirmary and tend to the injured. That is what a real hero would do. Plus, your father should be beaching any minute now. I imagine that he'd like to have a word with you.

It needed some more editing, running too long and wordy. I really wanted to work it out so that it would eventually lead to a direct confrontation, mano y mano, between Hulk and Thor and sort of let the voters decide. We try to eliminate the rest of the team without really hurting them, all the while conveying the kind of ravaging nature of the Hulk and how he is always a threat to everyone involved and then send in the one man that might be able to stop him, Thor and try to answer who would win. Oh well.

As great as having a character as powerful as Thor (and Hulk, Sersi, etc), worth 4 players, it almost becomes a crutch. Sheer numbers and methods from larger teams seem to garner more attention and pure strength or power doesn't seem to hold its own weight here in the league, at least from what I have seen along the voting lines. Here was an evenly matched contest as far as roster goes so it would have been interesting to see how it played out. No magic, no telepathy, no cosmic amazingness, just four on four "who's the baddest" type of throwdown.

I am quite fond of the tactic of using Daken to tie up Hulk, and I find it to be reasonable and believable, as well as calling on a new twist on old iconography.

I can almost see the McFarlane-homage cover in my mind.

sorry guys, but I leterally had 2 minutes of internet time, and that is no time to wrtie a strat, so I forfeited.

I do want to say howeve, you would have seen daken chopped into little pieces, spiderwoman have the oxygen burned out of her, setting her on fire, and the death of thor
