If you had to release a musical single which was a cover version of an existing song then what would you want to sing?
I'd probably pick "I Just Called To Say I Love You" as sung by Stevie Wonder as it was the first record I ever owned when I was 4 years old.

Probably a Marilyn Manson song. Hell the guy's done enough covers it's about time he got some done of his own stuff. (Oh Marilyn, what ever happened to you?)

If I could sing, probably "The Dive", by Culture Club. It's not well-known, it has a bit of a contrast between the verses and the chorus, and it's not too simple a tune to sing either, I imagine.
All Of My Heart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MVY9j30Wdk) by ABC.Nice one. I didn't know you liked ABC.

Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4"
My life has been pretty much one big writer's block... the guitar solo is pretty sweet, too.

I'd do a cover version of David Bowie's "Modern Love", but I would slow it down slighty and do it only with piano accompaniment.
For some reason, I think it would sound really cool that way....

I have a terrible singing voice, but that one generally impresses people if you talk fast enough.
If the question is, which would I do if I could sing, well, that'd take some serious thinkin'.

Can't narrow it down to just one:
Space Oditty: David Bowie
I'll Be There: Four Tops
Smooth Criminal: Michael Jackson
My Drive Thru: Pharrel, Santigold, and Julian Casablancas (with my friends!)

"Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" by N-Trance .......Such a challenging song to sing. I'd have to go for a pseudo urban carnival barker schtick, while interversing with Rod Stewart-esque vocals.
Love the song, though, so I'd be up for the challenge.

Super hard, but right now I'm leaning towards "Holland, 1945" by Neutral Milk Hotel.

And ALL of you would be forced to sing the chorus with me. All nine times.
(It's NOT hard to follow...)

I'd like to hear a YABS chorus for the Alanis Morissette version of "My Humps"......

I would rather gargle glass. Then again, many YABSters would agree for this to happen.

Either The Talking Heads' "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)" or a Billy Bragg/The Jam/Ted Leo-style cover of Brinsley Schwarz's "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding."
The b-side would be cover of Elliott Smith's "Say Yes" performed with/produced by Jon Brion.

Io Canto.
Which appropriately enough, means "I Sing."
Either that, or Blood by Editors.
I have it stuck in my head, and it's my new theme song.

Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues.
(ironically I've seen Alannis Morrisette do a horrendous version of this on some awards show)
