Some Metamorpho questions

Aside from his own book in the 60's-70's and of course the horrendous Outsiders, has he ever made a difference in DC Continuity? What's he known for? Would someone bring me up to speed on what's going on with Metamorpho?

Seconded. The original outsiders was fantastic. The current run began well with Dixon's arcs which played up all the fun aspects of Metamorpho's personality. Not sure how Tomasi is handling him...
