How about a thread dedicated to heroes/runs/series with a similar thematic feel to Wonder Woman that Wonder Woman fans might dig? I'll skip over the most obvious (Promethea), and go with my personal favorite....
Walt Simonson's "Orion". Orion, as a character, has a similar warrior sensibility to Orion, with a complicated relationship to his family and, above all, rates the concept of "Duty" very highly. He's a much more damaged, conflicted character than Wonder Woman is, but he's got a lot of the same characteristics, and his world is very mythological in nature.
And Simonson's Orion is easily the best piece of work done on the character since...well, ever. I rank it higher than the Kirby stuff, and it's Walt's best work to date (at least according to my opinion, and his). It's deeply layered, riddled with subtext and intelligence with subtle characterization, larger than life concepts, and crushing tragedy. It's probably the best mainstream comic run I've ever read.
Give it a try if you can find it at your local store or on Ebay for cheap. You won't be disappointed.
