im not 100% on this being DC but i remember that the main character could see these invisible monsters that fed on humans life force or fears or something.
he was the only one who could see them and the humans being fed on didnt know about them or feel them, the monsters were aware that he could see them and would always try to feed off of him........

It does sound like Midnight Nation, but that was in the early 00s.

My memory is really fuzzy, but is it Fate? The '94 Dr. Fate spin-off that came out of Zero Hour? I dropped that series by issue 2 so like I said, I'm pretty fuzzy on the details.
