The hell-lords have pulled some evil crap over the years, but what are some of the worst things they have done? Of all of them which one is the most evil? Which one is the most pathetic or weakest character wise? And no neither Jeph Loeb or Joe Quesada are among them. I'm also not counting death gods like Pluto or Hel or extradimensional beings like Dormamu. These are meant to be pure demons who rule hell.

Mephisto-the most famous. In his early appearances he terrorized the the Silver Surfer with reuniting with Shalla-bal among other things over the years. He created Master Pandamodium and was at least indirectly responsible for the Scarlet Witch's insanity. There is the whole incident with Doom's mother. He took Franklin Richards to hell one time. He has terrorized Ghost Rider for years with half-truths and pure torment. He created Blackheart. His most recent bout of evilness was erasing Spider-Man's marriage.

Satannish-I know little on him so perhaps someone else can name better examples. All I know is he has empowered various villains over the years. His worst evil ironically is against other villains. He sided with Dormammu in the latter's invasion of hell. He has battled Mephisto a few times. He recently destroyed all the Skrulls in Britain.

Lucifer-only confirmed to have appeared in the most recent Ghost Rider series. Made a deal with Johnny Blaze years ago. Recently tricked Blaze into freeing him from hell where he terrorized Earth before being eventually tricked into returning to hell.

Marduk Kurios-tricked several of the Summarian gods into becoming demons in exchange for permanent power on Earth. I don't know much other stuff he has done so someone else could perhaps clear up the details for me. He probable did a bunch of stuff to torment his son Daimon Hellstorm.

Olivier-created the Punisher to increase his power and nearly took over all of hell. May have been responsible for the murder of his family.

Thog the Netherspawn-I know nothing about him.

Blackheart-I know little about him other then he was created by Mephisto.

I think that covers all the major ones. Hopefully someone can fill in the details of the scant ones.

I think the best is Mephsito. Probable due to his large number of appearances, but he has had the most complicated plots and done the most damage over the years.

As to which one is the worst...I think I would have to say Lucifer from the most recent series. I have read at least a little of most of them, but he came across as the most pathetic if you will. Lucifer never comes across as a credible threat. As the devil you think of him as the ultimate evil. A clever manipulator and one of the most powerful beings there is. In the series he was lacking on both counts. His overall dialogue portrayed him as being juvenile with crude remarks being the best he could come up with. Pretty much any devil's deal he offered was only done the most overt way possible such as "Your soul or your life." No complex plans or shrewd dealings. He acts of evil themselves were generally only as bad as you see on the evening news. Even tricking Johnny Blaze is not that big a deal since as Johnny himself admitted he tended to be rather stupid.

Thoughts? Additions?

Its easily mephisto changing the whole marvel universe. By erasing spidermans history he invalidated erry marvel story that was ever written prior to OMD

See, even if you were right, you're wrong. Because what would he have done prior to the wedding?

Rubbish. For one thing, as Stone Gold points out, what about the stories from Amazing Spider-Man #1 through to #292? They are completely unaffected by the Mephisto erasing of the marriage and the mindwipe.

As for the post wedding stories (or non-wedding, if you will), those stories now happened in an alternate timeline, which is the same timeline that the whole of the 616 Marvel universe has also followed, but those stories still essentially happened in exactly the same way. The only real difference was that MJ and Peter were in a long-term relationship, rather than actually married.

I can see no evidence to suggest that the Spider-Man stories published between October 1987 and November 2007 have been "invalidated" in any way. They just occurred with an MJ and Peter who were in a long-term relationship rather than married. That's all.

I'll go with Mephisto. I think marvel makes it no secret that he's the top hell lord anyways.

ANd I can't think of anything that really tops what ended up happening with Wanda's kids. Add the trickle down effect to that with Wanda going nuts multiple times, and I think you have a winner.
