Anyone watching this show? I like it a lot!

Cedar and I watch it often. It's a fun show, and great for anyone that enjoyed those Ocean's 11/12/13 movies.
Plus I think a season was just addedon Netflix instant play, so others can catch it there if you've yet to do so.

I like it but but couldn't care if I missed a new episode. My mom on the hand can't miss any new episode.

is it bad if i say it's extremely cheesy? that it's got more annoying in the 2nd season? that the writing, specifically of 'the bad guys' is so heavy handed and without depth?
at least everyone, except hutton and the woman who played sophie, are enjoyable or tolerable
i watch it online due to boredom but can't stop myself from shuddering and rolling my eyes.

I keep missing it. It's hard to get back into the "There are new shows on TV" vibe after a few months.

Hmmmm....I saw two episodes of the first season and didn't really like them. They were just too predictable for me.
Has it gotten better?

I heard about the '50s version, Lever To Beaver.
...Yep, that's pretty wrong.

I love this show. I just wish John Rogers wrote more episodes. There's a definite difference in the writing when it's someone else.

I have trouble getting into it because of one thing: the heroes are always in control. Any plot twist that occurs after the first 10 minutes was planned by them and poses no actual risk. I don't mind if they always win, but I wouldn't mind if they had to work for it once in a while.
To be fair to Leverage, though, I'm holding it to extremely high standards - John Rogers wrote Blue Beetle, after all, which was one of DC's strongest comics of the last 5 years, and Leverage seems to be placed squarely against the also-breezy, also-summer show that's also about a group of gifted professionals working for the common man in the superior Burn Notice.
I thought Leverage was really hitting its stride last season with "The First David Job" and "The Second David Job", especially after flashes of brilliance in the genuinely fun "Bank Shot Job" or "Twelve Step Job"... but season 2 seems to have largely fallen back on bad habits, at least from what I've seen of it.

I love it... been watching it from the beginning.
I was roped in by the fact that it starred Christian Kane (Lindsey from "Angel") and was created by John Rodgers, who did the pilot for Warren Ellis's "Global Frequency," which didn't get picked up but leaked to the Internet.
The first few episodes of season 2 were a bit uneven, with lots of plot holes, but things have righted themselves with the last couple of eps (just in time for it to go on hiatus until January....sigh.)
But this week, Jeri Ryan joins the cast. In leather pants! (http://kfmonkey.blogspot.com/2009/09/ive-had-worse-jobs.html)

It's not broadcast in Canada, but I was able to pick up the first-season DVD set and watched the first three episodes last night. So far I really like it.

I had the same thought last night. As the episode we were watching was ending, I turned to my wife and said, "...if no one else can help you - and if you can find them - maybe you can hire...
...the A-Team.
DAN DA DA DAA
DAN DA DAH"
The way I figure it, Timothy Hutton is Hannibal, Sophie is Face, Parker is Murdock, Lindsay from Angel is B.A., and Hardison doesn't have a counterpart.

I was gonna say more 'Robin Hood' politically. Dispossessed 'lord' leading as band of thieves against a corrupt aristocracy?
There were 1930's western serials more radical than A-Team--the villains were almost always lower class ruffians threatening the landed gentry.
Love this show--but Dean Devlin never lets me down.

Love this show--but Dean Devlin never lets me down.Yeah, I had this discussion with someone else on another board. The BIG difference between "Leverage" and "The A-Team" is that, with the A-Team they always beat the bullies by being BIGGER bullies. The bad guys got guns? Well, the A-Team will build a mobile assault vehicle with a flame thrower out of crap you find in the garage and then they'll kick the bad guy's ass!
The Leverage team gets the bad guys by being smarter, more clever, more devious, and more underhanded. The Leverage Team wins because they give the bad guy enough rope and let him hang himself! Elliot may kick the crap out of someone but he does it with his fists -- with his talent -- NOT because he has the bigger gun.
It's all about talent, smarts, savvy, and understanding human nature. And honestly, after Bernie Madoff, can any of us NOT say that there can be people out there who are unrepenant villains?
In short, I *like* it.... although I will agree that I think it took a few episodes for the second season to get it's legs under it.

Yeah, I agree. I've been catching up on the recent BBC series Robin Hood, so it's been on my brain. The first six episodes of the first season were crap, about as intelligently written and consistent as the old Raimi Hercules. Boring. Then somebody figured out what was missing--Robin is 'The Trickster' Archetype--using skill and brain-work to defeat superior force.
So it's like Hustle so......?
Yep. Not quite as stiff, though.
I like Burn Notice better than both, but only slightly more than Leverage.
Anyone watching this show? I like it a lot!
Funny you should ask, I watched a couple of episodes from this season, and I was saying to my self, "I wonder if Gail has seen this show? I bet she would like the characters."
The characters are fun and I love the interactions. But I'm not sure about the acting, sometimes I think they over do the acting a bit, but I'm not sure cause there in the middle of a con, and maybe their characters are suppose to over act. Like the Mastermind, he seems fine when he's not acting, but he seems to overact when he's doing cons.

I love Parker. She's become one of my favorite TV characters.
I want Beth Riesgraf to play the role of Goldilocks in the hypothetical "Fables" TV series.

What the hell man?
Although if Leverage is our A-Team......do they beat up trade unionists in this one?

I've been meaning to catch up on this show but I can't seem to remember to watch it. Perhaps its time to try and rent the DVDs. Is Season 1 out on the DVD yet?
also, Christian Kane is awesome. Loved him on Angel. I saw just a random episode and was like "this dude is awesome. Where have I seen him before? OH Hell! That's Lindsey (his character on Angel) This Show RULES!"

Yes, it is; that's how I'm watching it. It's going to be a long wait for Season 2.

I was HOOKED on season 1. The characters and concept carried it even when execution fell short, imo.
Haven't seen season 2 - no cable in nyc home yet.
